What bothers me is that a great many people came out here in full on combat ships with low jump ranges (even with Guardian FSD booster) and shipped modules out here. We all probably expected to be granted a special permit to operate in the Cone Sector once there, or to have the Gnosis at least get stranded in a different locked sector and have failed to make it to the destination. What we didn't expect is to not even get remotely there, have a Galnet article spoil it many hours early, and then a cheap excuse of dropping meta alloys (did anyone aside from maybe a handful of commanders even bring more than a couple due to them being a pain to farm via mode switch?) when the Gnosis is bogged down with hundreds of ships with Guardian weaponry ready to fry the bugs?
This whole thing reeks of not just the Jacques event (which was ruined cause FDEV couldn't even be bothered to not hide it from the galaxy map in one of the economy tabs or something and a player stumbled across it on the map by accident, revealing it FAR earlier than they wanted), but of the damn Salome event which was already pre-planned (aka the whole drama of Drew playing innocent to how people on social media react when Salome got destroyed by Harry Potter because he let an irl ganker and in-game terrorist into her friends wing. Then caving under the "pressure" and "harassment" he got from players to the point of quitting Frontier and not writing for Elite anymore despite he KNEW how social media would react).
Now this happens and I have to wonder just how many at Canonn knew this garbage would happen or if they knew at all and this is just more poor planning on Frontiers part. Either way this whole event reeks. I came out here to get stranded in super hostile territory and maybe have some big revelation occur (you know them saying this would be a tiny patch and then revealing something like an active Thargoid Mothership or three, or some new ultra massive surface structure that dwarfs the previous discovered ones and having to investigate it). Instead we are treated like garbage and our time wasted. But hey, they are more than happy to release nice looking paint jobs right before a mega event that had an extremely large turnout. Great Job Frontier.... you really know how to stab your players.
Oh well. At least the devs for Overload know how to make a title and live up to promises (and exceed them as multiplayer PvP wasn't even planned for launch in that game at all on the kickstarter or Early Access and yet they delivered a great experience) so maybe I'll play that, or go buy No Mans Sky (because despite it had a horrible launch and was as big a laughing stock as Scam Citizen, at least they finally started delivering on their promises with a much smaller studio and less money) and do that, or maybe I'll just go back to Monster Hunter World on PC (We're getting Deviljho! THE EVIL PICKLE RETURNS!), or maybe just play more Path of Exile as that Delve update sates the curiosity I wanted to have from Elite with exploring alien ruins and structures with their infinitely deep Azurite Mine that has hidden cities and stuff.
Great to know that my time, and everyone elses time, means so little to you people at Frontier. Whatever vision yall have for this game quite frankly sucks at this point. A laughing stock of a game (No Mans Sky again) now has yall beat on engaging content despite a launch that basically killed it, I wouldn't be surprised if the upcoming joke that is Citizen Con (for Scam Citizen) ends up posting a finalized release date for their game and shows a slew of flushed out content. It's clear Elite doesn't want my time to be spent playing it.
Waste of time jumping out there and shipping modules... bloody hell.
