I hope the servers will be a bit more cooperative when I get home tonight. And please give us at least the time to use Outfitting, my anti-Tharg modules are still in storage...

How is this redeeming, they are blowing up CMDRs before they can even get off the pad.

This was supposed to be an EXPLORATION event and it's devolved into COMBAT. COMBAT FOCUSED.... AGAIN!!!

So, when everyone knew that you are going to a sector with a huge number the most dangerous Thargoids ships present you thought it would result in a lot of cuddling?

I love the ATC guy, so frosty under pressure... "Access Granted :) Please land at your designated pad commander! :)". I kinda wish he said "you're most welcome here, commander, enjoy your stay" :D

Yup... happy to say this is a pleasant surprise (even if it's virtually suicidal out there), and not really comparable to that article in Galnet.

Well, in fairness it’s only over the last week that it got Thargoided. Prior to that it was just a mildly interesting exploration mission to a previously inaccessible region. Now, it’s a bug hunt.

I'm starting to think that I might have trouble getting my Asp out of the Gnosis. :D

Aye, maybe those 3d lightweight modded shields on my Conda weren't such a good idea. [woah]

I did have the sense to bring a field neutraliser though at least.

So can we say, stage 1, combat dudes need to do their thing.

Even if it is just getting out of the system, grabbing some meta-alloys and luring the Hydras away with the shinies (or whatever)?

I think Frontiers idea here is that you'll need all types of players working togehter to get a happy end. Combat pilots to fight thargoids, explorers to, well, explore the systems once the Gnosis is back online, miners to get ressources, etc. I don't get why people are so upset about it.

Do you play the game by any chance? Its evident you aren't on the gnosis. What does get you out of bed, from a game perspective? I suppose I would tell people drowning what did they think would happen when they got into the water, too, I suppose. Its not like I'd get in there with them or anything.

Did the gnosis get inside the cone sector then? Last i heard it never made it.

Maybe a better plan would have had it make the jump, then get attacked while there, in the locked off sector itself? That way both the pew pew folks and explorers aboard the ship could have spent their day doing what they want - some pew pewing to save the ship, some making a run for it and off exploring the sector and reporting their findings - like the alien bases where the goids are spawning from (a bit of fiction, but you get the idea). Then both explorers and combat pilots could work together in nullifying the threat.

The current 'event' has forced everyone down one avenue... pew pew. It looks cool. but could have been so much more embracing of other playstyles.

So I am guessing if you are going to the Gnosis, one should NOT use the safe Disengage but a manual one and drop in about 40 kms, to get full eyes on the Thargoids as they come in and avoid any shut down field or other ambush and chose your engagement

I've been shooting wanted targets inside the no fire zone since I arrived at Gnosis.

Seriously, who cares about a 200 credit fine? You can dock and pay the fine, stop complaining about that.

(But I agree immersion-wise it's stupid)

Also I agree with TheLawful, we wanted that for a long long time! (can't rep you though, shot all my ammo :D)

Problem though: If you get killed, will you respawn at a detention center?
