So, what happened? Did the S&R drive away the thargoids? Did they pacify them? How? With tons meta alloys? WHy would they be carrying tons of meta alloys? Or do they have Guardian weapons? Did they have to farm Obelisks to unlock them too?

I'm confused...

Problem is, the narrative of this event (whatever it is) is now shattered, FD need to quickly DM a new one and get things on track. That, and sort out the other bugs like NFZs etc.

You complain about the spoikler, but then proceeded to ignore the prominent point that was hinted within the spoiler as to how to deal with the primiximty of the aliens to the ship. Instead willfully discharging weapons if the zone and then complaining that the crime is punished as per the rules???

Defending the ship from Thargoid attack should NOT be a crime.

the fact that fdev sabotaged what was supposed to be a exploration focused event.
That's not a 'fact'FDev have sabotaged NOTHING.Whatever Cannon hoped the event to be is irrelevant. They do not, and should not be running the game nor narrative (admittedly, FDev have the worst writers imaingable even after getting rid of Brookes and Wagar) but the point remains that this is FDev's game and they are the arbiters of what happens.Yes, having player/community input can be nice, but for any player or player group to expect they can detfine the scope, development and even outcome of an event is laughable. It's already been close to the wire in some discussions about the self-aggrandisement and qutionas of favouritism (not saying I agree with any such claims) but to allow player-groups the opportunity to define exactly what happens during an event would be grossly unfair. The Gnoosis jump was intended to be epxloration focus, many players hoped it would be and expected that, many prepared in such a fashion, but nowehere was this, nor should it have been considered a mandate for FDev to adhere to.

Yes, we're sure, a canonn councilor issued a apology and statement several pages back.

He is especially angry at the fact that fdev sabotaged what was supposed to be a exploration focused event.

Ah okay. Thank you for the reply! I am unfortunately not able to read through this whole mega thread.

Anyway, I find this turn of events way more engaging then the expected dissapointment of just finding some empty (yet previously unexplored) systems. (As stated in one of the parallel threads.)

My dude maybe come out here and see how you do. Anyone releasing a fighter in the NFZ will be immediately fined when the fighter responds to the parent being shot. Never mind the Gnosis is shooting down player ordinance and the AI for the thargoids keeps them inside the NFZ and mistiming launch and being honked means a loitering fine and then instant hot death followed by being marched to the detentionary.

It is a marvel half the players are still there.

Maybe rather than preaching from the ivory tower, try being there. Fly safe, commander. o7

What do you mean "come out here", I'm there and have been for hours.

It isn't.However dischargin weapons in the zone IS a crime, and an exceedingly well known one that has been in the game for a while. Why people are suddenly feigning ignorance is beyond me.

Stop your non sense. Even FDev have aknowledge that this is a problem they are working on it right now to solve it.

Yeah. Until you you hear confirmation it's been disabled, treat as active I would .. expect to be, rescued.

Because it is stupid from a ingame point of view.
Lots of things are incredibly stupid from many points of view. The game engine works as it does for various reasons. If there's a bug, submit a report. If it's intended, learn to play within those limitations.

Well considering anyone with an explorer build can't get off the pad before being smoked. We'll never know, will we?

You can land and dock Gnosis without any Tharg in sight!
It’s only in say 1 instance on 5 there are Thargs spawning.
If they spawn just log until you get a Tharg free Gnosis o7

But...didn't fd almost say that this might happen? There was a clear warning about thargoid activity, gnosis wanted to jump anyway, so it was almost clear that something like this would happen. What was everybody thinking what would happen here?

Honestly i am a little bit confused. While it would be quite interesting that players could get to a restricted sector, what should they find there? Pretty shure FD could not just put in something great new there in such a short time.

So for me it is quite interesting that there is after all some reaction ingame here.
