Since the game will have the option to make private servers modding will be fully supported, if some mods get popular they might think about including them in the PU.
If you visit the foruns the Modding Area is filled with WiP ships and stuff.

How will modding work?
Players will be given full control of their game! When operating private servers, players will be able and encouraged to mod the game. It doesnt stop there, though: we hope to institute a mod approval process that will allow the best of the best player created ships and other additions to be integrated into the central persistent world as well.

I ask this because it seems the persistent world will be getting intermittent small add on story content as well and it would be such a shame to miss out on all of this stuff.
Thanks again for everything.
Seth
We will definitely be constantly updating/tweaking the persistent world. We haven't spent much time on designing the local server experience yet, so I'm not sure how (or if) updates would flow to a local server.
I look forward to your total flight model/control scheme conversion mod

Then we just need to wait for someone to do a perfect replica of a millennium falcon![]()
Your trolling hard when you talk about modding the controls of a unfinished game lol.
It's not going to be easy - I don't expect it to be a 'walk in the park', but I am bloody determined to show how it could be done to suit the kind of gameplay that I like. And yes, I will be doing it mainly for myself - but that's not to say I won't garner opinion and welcome the advice and the experience of others, but ultimately, as it will be my time spent making it, I will make the final decisions about what goes in, and what does not.
Incidently, have you tried putting the search terms "mouse commander" into google?

Someone's yawning in the background and it's impossible to yawn while in the vicinity of Star Citizen?
Could be an integrated easy access chip and pin card machine.
Then again maybe you're right, does look more like a dish, and football season's started.

So Firemonkey, Mr. Nowak, Beuller, anyone. Serious question for you. This is an exploration ship. How do you think exploration will work in SC? The advert implies new worlds but this runs counter to what we know about the universe size, realistic scope for uncharted worlds etc. Apart from turtle waxing his Constellation Aquila, what do think an explorer will be up to? And do you have any concerns? Any question marks?
That´s a Constelation Aquila made for exploration so it might be a horn or an Parabolic antenna to get alien TV channels!
I personaly dont really care about exploration in specific but i love me some adventures, anyway if their are giving the trouble to make/sell ships oriented to exploring i guess they have big plans for it.
Anyway google got me this, you might get some answers: https://forums.robertsspaceindustries.com/discussion/38624/exploring-exploration-in-star-citizen-what-we-know-so-far/p1

Oh, yes, that was so obvious.
A dish that points to somewhere-in-space satellites for TV channels!
Great immersion, I'm gonna like that.
It's funny how annoyed people must be of SC to do pages long of this![]()
This, I check this thread every day or 2 and its the same people, repeating the same things over and over again.
Travis said yesterday that they will have procedurally planetside environments for exploration... And Ben said somewhile ago that the exploration mechanics is still TBA/TBR.
- First off in solar system exploration. Hidden asteroid fields, abondoned stations and space anomalies. Scanning these and trying to pin point them. Also found an uncharted valuable asteroid field? Keep the info to yourself.
- Thirdly landing on planets and doing on planet exploration. I expect not too big areas for this but pretty atmospheric stuff none the less. Finding artifacts or other races. Some dead spacey FPS action too.
- Secondly Jump Point discovery. This will also be hard to navigate first. Charting a Jump point and discovering a solar system. Selling charter information to the UEE or people.

I'm going to be interested to see how dense SC is.
It's what, 30 minutes across at 0.2c? So less than an AU to a given sector, but still a phenomenally large amount of space. It'll be interesting to see how much empty space there will actually be.
One of the arguments you hear is that ED is full of 'empty space' (much as space is), but an area with the width of the distance from the sun to the earth (which it isn't quite, admittedly) is going to have a lot of empty space as well.
Very curious precisely how dense it's planned to be.
I suppose this relates to that 'something double something precision thing'. Hows that coming along anyway? Seems like a long time since they said they felt the need to implement it.
