The 15 second logout timer in action

Dont get involved in Player based objectives. The attackers are the ones that usually start this mess. From another mode where they cant be stopped. If they are found in open they combat log and still complete the same objective.

For the love of god its not about being someones content.

I think you guys need to start looking at the bigger picture here.

And try to understand the game in front of you. And why its been in trouble the past year and a half.

These are obvious problems that has nothing to do with other people being someones content.

Its about proper game balancing over objectives. Please do your best to understand this.

If I wanted to blow ships up and make content. I can do that all day already. Anyone can.

Again, please try to understand why these are issues.

So it is all about the BGS right. You do realise that not everyone is actively involved in BGS activities to that level? Yes, they trade, they hand in bounties, they drop their exploration data in and some probably realise that there is some flow on effect because their reputation goes either up or down as a result. But ask the to explain the BGS, heck half of them would have trouble spelling BGS much less explaining it. So again, you want everyone to be in your content (yep used that word again) that is the BGS even if they don't care about the BGS. If you are that concerned that nasty people are affecting your personal take on your BGS from either Solo or PG, why can't you do the same? I know it may be unethical to you personally, but war is war and any means to win a war is allowed if no rules are broken.

Heresy! "There is but one lens, and that must be the targeting recital." Thus the hammer spoke.

Powerplay BGS player factions. Each with their own set of frame work and rules binded to them.

The only things thats constant is the players are making the impacts. And you are no longer playing against the game itself.

People are abusing features in the game made for PVE in PVP objective scenarios. And thats unacceptable.

Guess what, they fix this stuff and give PVP a meaning, not allowing for people to combat log and other things.

Then Griefing will greatly be reduced. Because it will force people to learn the game and engineer using the same tools everyone else has.

Quite an odd concept I know. Playing the game to its fullest extent.

Griefing will die because it wont matter who engages you. In the end your skills and abilities should save you most of the time.

The reason there is griefing in the game, is because PVP is not defined.

Setting rules and restrictions would define PVP. And everything besides killing new players and station ramming has an understanding when the player gets involved in certain activities.

Its best for all parties involved.

Some dont want it because they will lose the competitive edge over objectives and being defended against, or they simply dont understand why rules need to be in place for something like combat logging. Not to mention the other ways out such as blocking.

I mean lets be real here, were playing a game. Sooner or later they will balance the game around the players interacting with each other.

I think thats something you and a lot of others need to accept that its going to happen.

I was reading this thread: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/442697-Opinions-on-combat-logging and decided to try out the timer at the CG when sure enough, immediately griefed non-stop by wanted players who want me to be their content. Not wanting to spend 12M a pop on rebuys, I used the timer. It worked as advertised, normally followed up by "friend" requests that turned out to be anything but, and threats to send the video to something called "elite combat loggers" (that's like a shaming site i guess).

Why am I only finding out about this wonderful piece of kit now?

Anyone who thinks this is acceptable is a coward!

Thank you... To be honest, I don't miss Angela. She was constantly complaining about my not cleaning the head properly after using it, and insisted I should be using one of those "air refresheners". Air refreshener! Me! I ask you! My foul stench has saved me time and again. Why, last time I spilt somebody's drink at a bar, that was what saved me. He was about to take a swing at me, got a noseful, and started retching, allowing me to make good my escape . . . :D

Too much information, I guess. Let's just say it's a good thing they haven't figured out how to reproduce smell in games. :D

LOL, we ladies can be sticklers for nice smells. But yesterday the ship reeked of Kongga Ale for hours. Tiffany made Elite so we had to celebrate, (good thing I'd kept a couple of cases after my initial visit to the Jameson gal in Shinrarta.) So we parked the Vette on a little moon and got thoroughly toasted, watching some ancient comic telecast called 'Red Dwarf'. Pretty funny! The main character (a human male called Dave Lister) sounds like you! And how we laughed at all this clogging stuff, she really gave me some perspective. 'Life's too damn short to worry about it,' she chortled, knocking back another glass. Here's to you Tiffany, I'd menu log any old day of the week to save your life!! :D
