Community guests at FD HQ on 27th for Q4 news

Whenever I have spoken to someone from Frontier at Lavecon, Fantasticon and FX2017 they all seem very passionate about Elite: Dangerous and I am sure they want Q4 (3.3) to be an update that people think is awesome.

I think yesterday's event was a great idea as it does help them see reactions from people "outside" of the group closely associated with the code/design before they release the beta and tweak accordingly.

I am so looking forward to when Frontier demonstrate Q4 in a live stream and also when they decide to release the beta.

Sorry all I couldn't help myself... i'm not really being serious :)

I have had way too much coffee today, it's starting to show!

One person had to go and change their pants.

That sounds good.

Good to hear.

But for future reference: practice your "Deeply Disappointed" face before the next visit. I'm a developer too, and if you give us any praise we get lazy and smug and useless. Use your "Negative Feedback" face to spur those devs into more action. Ideally, if you could bring along young children, and have them start crying when the reveal happens, that'd be swell. You could also have a senior citizen grab his chest and collapse of a broken heart, but IMO that's going too far. This is just a video game.

Uh that's sadistic imo.

Have they finally let MoM's AI creations off the leash? ;)

Last time they did that , the AI went round all the engineers and leveled up everything ,promptly killed every player in the game before taking over the galaxy.

Everything I say seems to make your fears worse (really sorry about that) so I'm going to shut up now and wait for you to see for yourself.

It's the unknown element which is worrying me. I really want 3.3 to turn exploration into something wonderful, and to say I'm totally invested in helping this happen would be an understatement. If Frontier had asked me to fly over there on my own dime to help I'd probably have paid for the trip.

There just isn't anything more I can do but wait now, and hope. Not an easy place for me to sit in.

Yeah, exploration in Elite is important to me.

PS: thanks though Alec, your info is much appreciated.

As someone who have worked in open offices it is hugely dependent on how it is done.

If there's soft, excellent noise canceling carpet and parts of office is split off correctly then it can be done.

I still prefer smaller rooms vs. open office, but devil is in details.

I have worked in an office that pumps in white noise, you can't hear people talking in the next pod
