Yes, and I was giving you a con - namely, that such a choice being made for you is at odds with the "total freedom" ethos of the game itself.
Its a bit of both. You chose the faction and the faction chose you. Its based on your behaviour and your actions. Attack a faction, please another rival faction. Please all factions and you can can be all factions.
Do a bit work for one faction, switch to another faction if they will have you, then switch back, if they will have you.
Its a fine idea, but personally, I'd rather start off the game neutral, get setup, then pick the winning side...
good answer...
may you please explain???
ahh ok. i see.
so you're saying in a way it's already implemented?
.
Sure, I find the whole idea repellentYou did ask for a yes or no....
Having to invest a bit of time and energy to show what you're really made of, is not such a bad thing. The more you have to work in order to get any benefits, the more you feel it is deserved somehow. You're not aligned on the drop of a pin!
And those freeloaders can take a hike to some independent systems, where they truly belong. In my most humble opinion of course!![]()
huh??
you get benefits for being in a alliance?

you get benefits for being in a alliance?
Aye. You can work the contacts and get new and better missions/trade deals. Also ranks and possibly other rewards. Hoping for a ship unlock.![]()
I would enjoy this as an option. I don't think I would play it as my main character, but I would find having a randomly 'rolled' start on one of my commander slots fun.
That said, I could achieve something very like this just by letting my four-year-old play the first 30 minutes of my game. So, I have a fine for ramming the station, a cargo hold full of marshmallows, and I appear to have downloaded some sort of My Little Pony decal for my Sidewinder...![]()
What about those of us who will start in the Founders' System ?
It could be an idea as a choice of start ala Frontier all those years ago. can't see a problem with that as long as theres a choice of a neutral start.
I'd love to see a Cobra/Sidey at lave with 100 credits![]()
