I’m the same, probably 90% of my time in Elite has been spent either exploring or mining. I’d probably break my Elite time overall down to something like this:
75% Exploring
15% Mining
4% Surface Salvaging
3% Passenger Missions
2% Trading
1% Combat
That feels fairly accurate for myself. You can see why the past four years of development have left me less than happy, lol!
well we are the players/the costumers/ the food supply of the game. and if we want the content creators to play the beta instead of the devs so be it. they are going to find the bugs and let the devs know asap. not Ed or Will, without disrespecting them but there are players that have more than 3000+ hours in the game and know it better than them. and i think that we all agree that we want the Q4 to release properly. this is the forums, the "most direct" form of communication with the devs, now is just a matter of are they willing to listen? reconsider? and adapt?
At this late stage? I doubt it. but as for the next beta... who knows?
well after working with them for 5 years i have learned some of the practices. the only time when you do what the other guys said is on the alpha state not on the beta.
Not sure who that "we" is. And being a YouTuber doesn't make you good at finding bugs, and alternatively not all players with thousands of hours are content creators. Or good at finding bugs, for that matter.
As most seem to think it's a good idea, I think they should go with that. In fact the only person who seems to see an issue is you at the moment.

But you should really try and stay on topic well i guarantee you that "we" is NOT the 2.3% of players that have no clue about the game. and yes content creators are the ones that find the bugs fastest. Like Yamiks when he founds the crusader hard points hatches being off model lol, found it literally minutes after release

Or maybe they just rewrote half of the core features, and it might take actual time to test it even publicly.

The only time, that you've seen, in your 5 years. Right. I do hope Fdev Rockstar Bethesda etc all have their developers dropping you a line, your experience is clearly going to be invaluable to the entire industry going forward.
Hey, do you have a course we could all sign up for? I've never been a games dev, I worked in commercial software, but my skills have clearly slipped since 1995 when I got my first programming job.

Agreed. Never liked the X-series. I have really tried to get into them, but at the end of the day I am not that interested in the gameplay it offers, which is mainly building up and running a corporation.
