Ha, the solution to the overbright issue is easy: raise the gamma instead of lowering. Space will become 'brownish' at some point, but that hard contrast between the stars and background space will be levelled and bearable again. The cyan still burns, but that is related to the UI color set IIRC which can be managed separately. I would definitely prefer the 3.2 settings for now, but admittedly the 3.3 graphics are better overall. Everything will be fine 
Have to play the 10-click game each time I boot 3.3 beta, btw. But shooting those drones at planets really rocks. Reminds me of Wargames | one of the later Terminator movies where the world finally gets eradicated by a nuclear war.

EDIT: Met CMDR Jezzer ingame and he pointed me at the NVidia Control Panel, Digital Color Correction. Set it to 20% as recommended and think I'm on the right path!
