I don't want to be salty, I just stated a fact which I have experienced to be valid in more than 20 years playing in online games. It has always the same pattern and to expect a different outcome "this time around" would be insanity (referring to Albert Einstein's quote here).
The fact is that I think most people regard this Newcomer's Forum as a sort-of "friendly", "welcoming" place and so think twice about being contentious. Unfortunately I fail at honouring this every so often - although I try to just be helpful, I do slip from time to time so my apologies for sullying the thread with my "Engineering" observations.
P.S. I remember exactly the beta of the Engineers and yes there was an awful lot of whining about it being dialled-back on release, I thought it was mainly PvP peeps but of course I could be (and often am) entirely wrong.
P.P.S. At least the "Skynet" revolt of the NPCs showed how destructive to the general populace it can be when mega-engineering runs riot. [haha]
P.P.P.S. - Returning "on topic" - I have given up messing with the cheaper "T" ships (6,7 and Keelback) in mining roles in the beta. Just going to get back to the live game and see if my latest clear-save can earn enough for his/her Python over the weekend. BTW - Is it just me or do the Community Goals seem really rubbish these past few months? I have not been able to recommend even one to newcomers for ages now.
P.P.P.P.S. - Also I am going to cut my nails to se if I can cut down on the typos.
