Wow, that has even worse forward views than the Blackbird...

I agree! The frontal HUD looks semi-transparent only, which means it will reduce the forward view even more.
Still it's all about special effects instead of useability i guess.

that explains the arcade arrow prbly, you wont see any ship through the windows anyway so better follow the arrow ^^

They introduced "THE ARROW" because they thought that the Radar wasn't that usable... it's a provisional solution

Because it's always a good idea to fix one bad gameplay issue by introducing another. It would be better if they'd just fix the damn radar...

Not much in it...

Nah that's still too generous, that new cockpit design reminds me rather to

Well considering the radar is not fully implemented yet, like many other features, its fine for now.

I'll be worried when the radar is fully functional and the arrow is still there.

One of the biggest selling points of Star Citizen is the ability to create your avatar and "live" has him in the Persistent Universe.

But until now we haven't seen more than 2/3 skins of male characters ingame, all we know is that everyone will be 1.80m +- and the height and weight will not be (much) changeable, because of sit sizes in ships mostly.

Some time ago Chris Roberts announced a partnership with Warhorse Studios (Ex: Mafia/Operation Flashpoint guys etc) that are developing the Medieval Realistic RPG, KingdomCome: Deliverance.
Their also working with CryEngine and developed amazing tools for character costumization that will be used also in Star Citizen. Video -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-SO9sx8e0a8

So from seing that movie and checking some of the concept art floating arround the net we can already have an idea of how the chars will be, depending how good they implement the system.

Im hoping for lots of cyborg elements and gritty characters, plenty of mature content with blood, profanity, sex and violence in the darker/shady places of the SC universe.

Good, Bad or the Villain, What would be your role in the Space Universe?

I wish I was English like my hero Tj.
I'm certainly interested in the character creation/customization aspect of SC, as I am in just about any game. (Wasted tons of time in EVE creating my characters, lol). That's one thing I really hope if fleshed out eventually in Elite Dangerous, too, at least when they finally get around to the first person add-on.

For SC, not sure what kind of character I'll play yet. That really depends on what professions really stand out in a gameplay sense. Time will tell. I'll roll a woman just because that's what I always do. :p

Like you I'm hoping for some gritty stuff, but obviously they're aiming for a Star Warsy level of maturity so I'm not going to expect a lot in that area.

Here's a rather amusing thing that happened to me this morning.

Overnight, I downloaded the SC client, thanks to their "free trial" thing that some kind person posted up. When I got up this morning, one of the first things I did was fire it up.

My eight year old daughter came over, and asked excitedly, "Daddy, what's THAT?". I said, "It's Star Citizen - a new game some people are building. It's only a small part of it, as they are still making it."

"It's really pretty! Can you fly over there to that thing?", she said, pointing at some orbital beam thingy off in the middle distance. Before I could reply, she asked, "Is this like Elite?".

"It will be a bit like Elite, I suppose, as you'll be able to fly all over the place, buy stuff, buy different ships, see all sorts of planets and so on. But it's not finished yet, so right now you can just walk around the hangar, fly around this bit of the game, and dogfight with other ships."

<APPROACHING SIMULATION BOUNDARY>

"And it doesn't look like I can fly all the way over to that thing just yet."

My daughter turned to me, looking cross.

"Well. I think they should spend a bit less time making it pretty, and a bit more time making it work."

And with that, she turned her back and trotted off to do something else. Leaving me picking up my jaw from the floor.

So... Chris Roberts... you're on notice, mate. You don't want to cross those next gen gamers-in-training. Tough crowd!

Don't worry, for every intelligent kid such as yours, there's ten other kids who are perfectly content just mindlessly "blowing stuff up" in a fishbowl ;)

Or there are thousands of armchair CEO's or developers who have perfect experience in building a big space game and have a lot of knowledge of releasing a build in development to a crowd of 500k people.

Tell me more about how I need to be a developer to criticize a game or a gaming company's practises.
Do I also need to play an electric guitar in order to regard a solo as a masterpiece?
What a ridiculous excuse.

(Even though I am a developer)

You don't need to be a dev but being a dev gives you a little bit of sense and insight. But I don't understand what is there to criticise about the AC map? There is a reason why it is the way it is.

And there is a reason they released it like that. They could have said nope we'll do the 64 bit implementation now so you guys will get Arena Commander in December 2014. And that's not the right choice at all.

The amount of feedback, balancing, bug fixes, netcode improvements AC has brought us in the past months is very very valuable.
