I mentioned this on SA the other day....No takers though, not funny enough.

Are all the assets we see in the PTU just the virtual sets and props from SQ42? Is this why the train set :) suddenly appeared without anyone asking for it? Thoughts.

REVEALED: Hornby is the secret buyer of F42!

Coming in 3.5: "Fat controller" armour, "Thomas the Blockade Runner" ship, and little model trees you can stick on your ships dashboard.

(I must get my Christmas tree back in my Courier)

Sorry to hear that, but i really can't say i'm surprised. Some of the individuals in these SC threads somehow manage to reach new rock bottoms with their blinded hate towards SC and everyone who likes the game, and theres a reason i personally moved on to other platforms to discuss about SC. I recommend the same for you and everyone else who dislikes toxic people.

Even my 3-year old son knows that bullying is wrong.

when you can't reply critics with valid arguments, play the victim.
it's an established technique, it works everytime.
much more easy to discuss a topic with others that agree with you.
by the way one that attend SC communities and dislikes toxic people is hilarious.

Don't give the "Fat controller" any ideas. He gets derailed enough as it is. ;)

Personally, 60 bucks represents a significant portion of my yearly video game budget, primarily because when I buy a video game, I expect to get at least as much entertainment out of it as several rounds of weekday morning golf (when green fees are more reasonable). Ideally, I expect to play a $60 game for at least a year, off and on.

And $120 on "a few beers" over a weekend? :O One more reason I'm glad I don't drink. More money for video game hardware. :D

Neither do I...never have. I just drive the transport, sit at the bar drinking orange and lemonade whilst taking snaps of the eejits making a fool of themselves and post the results on their Facebook timelines ;)

120 dollars is basically a fancy dinner for two on a moderately expensive restaurant a few times a month.

To be fair, there's a bit of a gap between "understanding game development" and "selling off 10% of a studio you didn't pay for to some clown in the Cayman islands without telling anyone and keeping the money."

And yes, I'd cheerfully throw CR into that gap.

I think it's an excellent display of how to make money and exploit legal gaps. Shove what you can, but I think there is already a briefcase full of cash waiting and since noone figures out what's happening someone might even get away with it.

That's the worst UI I have seen in... man, probably in years. I hope they reiterate it at least few more times, because it's very, very bad.

Oh, it used to be much, much worse! There were these predator-esque reticles flying everywhere that sometimes got stuck and obstructed nearly the entire screen.

Fun times!

It eats in the digital entertainment budget regardless of the amount. I can spend one thousand dollars on Star Citizen jpegs and get a "concierge" or I can get a bunch of finished, polished and released games on disc. Honestly I prefer the latter, it's more varied and lasts longer.

Also I'm not really fond of pay to play multiplayer games, because these quickly die off, when the next trend shows up. So for me it's paid singleplayer (that was what I originally backed) or free multi player. Obviously paid subscriptions are completely out of the question.

Aye and I meant "it might not be a bad thing" for that to happen. The crowdstarter scene seems to have a really noticable % of scams and run-aways in its midst. Investors/players taking a closer look and trying to evaluate a projects chance the hype speech aside might be a good thing for overall game quality in the future. The publishers have shown in the last 2 decades that they rather follow an established franchise and pump millions into a guaranteed success with probably moderate return profit then go full-risk and try something new that could blow the top or fail catastrophically. New and exciting things these days come from Indi and small-team developers who needs the funding...the reason why crowdfunding got big in the first place.

This is why its more and more important that people take more responsibility on who they support because too many people realized Kickstarter is easy money. All you need is a flashy video and a big smile promising everything under the sun and you have 200 million dollars wasted on CiG when we could ve gotten a "real" Star Citizen by supporting a worthy dev team.

If pickings get slow due to this I have no doubt that the people who really want to try, who really have potential and who have a chance to pull it off will remain while the lazy scammers will vanish first. Of course private investigations will only get you so far and we are still talking about 30-60 bucks....how much effort is that money worth right? many consider it "play money" to participate in a possible success story.

Thats not what enabled Star Citizen or the gigantic waste we currently observe tho. People lost control and simply showered CiG with more money then they asked for and then continued to do so. Why couldnt they stop after kickstarter and see what CiG manages to do with the 6 million they got, already 3x as much as they asked for? Why couldnt they stop after 65 millions....a number that basically secured Star Citizens release. I know I know...its easy to talk in hindsight but this example will be available for any future kickstarter projects as well. Maybe some players who feel the urge to spend a couple thousands will remember CiG and only put in 100 at first and see what the company does with that before committing more?

Maybe its a good thing in the long run that CiG might burn the crowdfunding scene...we ll see.

As for the bullying.....

You WILL encounter skepticism, sarcasm and passive aggressive behavior on this forum....in certain levels. There is a certain kind of leeway when posting but usually the moderators make a good job to prevent things from spiraling out of control. I personally have rubbed feathers with a lot of people over the years as have others. Things got heated, infractions were applied...we all learned to behave. That has never stopped others from taking snipe shots at me or trying to present me as something I am not. Constant defense of yourself and your opinion is simply mandatory to avoid others to morph your voice into something different. And in regards to Star Citizen we do have individuals who seem to see it as their job to force change peoples perspective in regards to the project.

So far this is nothing different from any other forum on the planet. But you are not alone in here. You are given tools and the moderators care and will interfere if things get out of hand. You might run into individuals who take it too far. This thread has seen its fair share as well (people who mostly are banned by now because they couldnt follow the rules) but again.....stand up and push back and the forum will be on your side defending YOUR values.

I guess I have stepped on many toes over the years and that being said I have never received a single hater or bully post. And if I would I would either ignore or report it and chill back knowing that this individual will be gone for good soon. Now I cannot begin to understand why somebody would want to "bully" a person that tried to stay as neutral as possible in all this. Maybe this is a warped personal perspective just as with henka who speaks of "hate" when its "skepticism"?

You gonna need a certain thickness of skin. If you expect all people in this thread to behave like responsible adults all the time or professional even....you will be disappointed. You just wont need the kind of armor that is required to survive and participate in other places...thats all and frankly...thats the best this forum can achieve IMO.

Suggestions and an open offer of help were issued. If you want to take part in this thread simply get back on the horse and keep riding ^^

I think the UI is clearly getting better and moving to the MFD direction. My gripe is with the Helmet UI's top left and right (Self Status Showing Shields and Signatures and Target Ship UI) they do break my immersion. I should have the choice to use all my displays on MDF only.

Not fair to put four games in one screenshot.

But seriously, though - why the heck do they waste so much money with crap like that? Every UI rework is likely days, weeks of work, that's lots and lots of money. Finish the ships with placeholders (if different ships are an issue), then put in UI. Better yet, finish the actual game with ship placeholders, then add the ships with UI placeholders, then add UI.

Without thinking too much about it my favorite cockpit design from the pics you posted is from 2012....the one I like the least is from 2016 but 2018 is a close runner-up to last place. But it seems that CiG is at least thinking more about functionality by now which often results in less then spectacular designs (military vehicles often are bare-bones and not really cool until you like that kind of thing) explaining 2016 and 2018 being an attempt to "spice it up". Thanks for the comparison.

Barebones? Not cool? I like flicking switches in my MiG Fishbed, thank you very much. If I want I can even go convertible and blow off canopy. Even has a HUD, how cool is that?!
