I can't have a 'pure trade' build but my oponent can have a 'pure killer' build ? Seems to be heavily one sided to me but I can see others don't see it that way so I'll leave you to jour self-congratulating gifs and meme's, I'd wish you happy Christmas but in reality I hope your baubles drop off.;)
This and also FTFY

It's a shame Frontier has caved in to the all combat builders with regard to increasing fuel scoop ranges. I liked seeing them complain about having a sub-10 LY jump range, and then complain about shieldless traders.

*shrug* If they want to be boneheads and fly around with subpar FSDs (which I doubt many of them do), Im not complaining as it means when I jump away, they aint going to be following me.

A while back, when a group leader had placed a 'hit' on me, I lead a couple of FDLs wannabe assassins on a merry dance of system hopping till they ran out of fuel to keep up with me.

You can have any build you want. Whether or not said build is a good idea is another matter entirely.

What do you mean?
FDLs are terrible for trade.

I reckon you and I have different ideas of what a 'pure trade' build is. Mine includes upgraded armour, a decent shield, and maxed out thrusters - because the worst trade build, imho, is one that sticks it's head up it's backside, plugs it's ears while singing lalala... pirates and bad people are imaginary. Transporting expensive goods across vast, barely patrolled regions of space, is and should be risky. The worst traders are the one's who get destroyed before reaching their destination. Or dump their cargo at the first sight of an Imperial vessel - before being scanned.

Pre engineers, at the height of CG piracy, I used to fly an armed FDL with 36t cargo space that had a 1d interdictor and 'wanted' status in system.

All the wannabee pirates used to think I was one of them, and I never encountered an interdiction.

Lol
That's much better than getting blown up in a shieldless T9, no doubt.

There is one reason why this thread is a thing. Some really toxic players cannot just comprehend idea of fair play - speaking here as Xbox One player. And while I don't agree it should be a carefree sandbox, because I don't mind bad guys...

Yet I think Private Group was given for this sole example to avoid players whose only goal is to ruin someone's day. And I'm not speaking about people who are actually roleplaying their character as a vile terrorist, but about the people who won't even back from using mechanics to troll other players. I was victim of abusing C&P mechanic which was used to move me +150 ly away from one CG.

How?

Someone rammed my ship three times (first time I thought it was accident, the second I started to run away, third was fatal) within NFZ - and it was me to gain the fines, then upon destruction I was moved into closest prison station. Yes, these said +150 light years away from CG.

At the end of the day, it is just a game. However, Open is not for people who have a slow pace for plenty of reasons... and they are missing quite nice experiences which aren't that terrible which is Open Mode. However, loss of few million credits on rebuys is not the same for each player.

Sounds like you were breaking the 100m/s speed limit and your rammer died too. Yes, that's a pretty scummy tactic, but so well known that... well, don't speed. System authorities are relentless regarding speeding, pad loitering, and breaching the no fire zone.

Or use a Docking Computer, as collisions at speed dont count when thats engaged.

My ship was overspeeding only when I started to run away on the third attempt (I had been sitting in place and awaiting rest of the band to undock from Coriolis). Also, scummer didn't die. He or she was Medium or Large ship, while I flew... Diamondback Explorer?

You know, it is hard when someone rams you in order to destroy your ship.

Also, please posting the oversized pictures that bring nothing into conversation, mate.

Unfortunately, if he died later, possibly from ramming someone else, your speeding allocates you some credit for his death! Lucky you!

Edit: Don't take my responses the wrong way. Station ramming is bottom-feeder activity, nobody really debates that, and many of us have been on the receiving end. But, we all know there are bottom-feeders out there, and it really isn't too hard to avoid them and/or their antics - yes, even in Open. For me, it's just a part of the dangers out there, and really, my deaths from NPCs and/or my own stupidity/carelessness out weigh deaths from other players by a factor of 20:1 (and I don't die very often).

You were speeding?

You were speeding?

I started to run away with 30% hull left, shield down, FSD charging and me trying to avoid being rammed at the same time. I couldn't dock into Coriolis safely + I had no DC. And I wasn't aware C&P pushes you into prison stations if you are fined before destruction. It was first days of C&P being introduced and I wasn't aware of such changes.

From what I remember, the ad hoc Wing mates told me that guy just docked, paid fines and undocked like nothing happened.

But the first mistake was speeding from the sounds of it.
