@Siobahn - having a woman in your life costs money. A lot of it. Regardless of whether or not she expects it, asks for it, or whether or not you have children together. This is not sexist, it is a fact.
@Rafe - When I went to sleep last night, you had zero posts in this thread in the first couple of pages. I wake up this morning, and there you are, inserted multiple times. Lifted ban of some sort?
@Everyone - I don't have the quote, but Frontier did state that they were going to be contacting base game holders individually via email some time after Beyond to discuss options. The merge is almost certainly coming, and I honestly don't care if they just get upgraded for free at this point in the game. Just get everyone on the same platform, the entitled of the LEP'er camp will have their cry, and we can all move forward.
Electronic gaming is an expensive hobby - there is an initial cost for hardware, plus ongoing costs to continue playing (especially online), the cost of the software, and there is also the opportunity cost of doing it in the first place. My point earlier was that if $30 (let alone $8) is something you have to scrape over time to save, then you should not be gaming. You, quite simply, cannot afford the luxury, and should be putting that money elsewhere. What you want doesn't matter - facts don't care about feelings, and if the fact of the matter is that gaming is something you cannot afford, then you should not be doing it, and the rest of the community should not be held back by it. End of story.
