You misunderstood what I wrote, or I didn't make myself clear.
The lack of the ADS "honk" giving you auto-credits & a filled system map just by pressing a button seems to be people's major beef here. Maybe it's "money orientated", maybe it's just that they want to eyeball an ELW, or listen to tones, or whatever because they don't look at the frequency response from the "honk" closely enough, I couldn't say.
But the old system is utterly incompatible with the new. Bringing the ADS back in its original form would totally defeat the purpose of the FSS. So, I for one hope they don't do that.
No I get that you think that, but that's not what I'm getting from people complaining at all, they don't want more money, they want the old ADS back which is slower and harder to make money, money is NOT their motivation at all. This sadly is what I think is the common misconception behind all pro FSS people arguing.
This is the jist I get from the complaints.
1) many just hate the new gameplay mechanic
2) many want a quicker way to get a "basic" view of the system akin to the old System map reveal via the "honk", for finding configurations of interest (not for finding the "MONIES")
3) many want to fly their spacecraft to the planets to discover them as opposed to looking at them through a telescope. ONLY in the bubble or pre discovered systems is that possible, in a virgin system an explorer has pretty much no idea in what direction to go without the using the FSS first.
There may be more, but I think that's the majority of the views (condensed) I see in the various threads. No one ever mentions they want "maor monies".
I don't think the ADS nulifies the FSS at all, the primary function of the FSS is to replace the laborious (for me) fly up to every planet to "discover it"....but I realise many like doing just that so feel they should have the gameplay choice as it in NO WAY impacts anyone elses gameplay, in fact it negatively impacts theirs if they want money and first tags etc as it's SLOWER!!
