I hope DW2 gets ganked all the way to Beagle Point.

I was at Waypoint 2 yesterday (in Fleetcomm), but reading the chat from open his nibship was there in open threatening people and the like.

I know it wouldn't happen, but it would be hilarious for the PvP crew to arrive at tne next major 'gathering' to find the prey have been sensible and stuck to PG & Solo.... I wonder if they'd play with themselves instead?

I think I'd find it even funnier if there were experienced well-armed players waiting for the gankers at the next way-point. I mean, seriously, we have the Fuel Rats, why not another player group for gatherings. The Ganker Gankers or somesuch. ;)

Well, that's kinda the case at WP2. You can chat to them in the system chat, it's kinda like:

Yep!

There must come a time when people do things other players don't like, you don't look at changing the whole game to try to please everyone (you can't).

What about player agency? So it was a surprise attack was it? Regroup, rethink and (maybe) ... revenge!

Ironically, that's how I first got into PvP; protecting pvers at cg's

There are lots of groups like that including my own.

Unfortunately, we (even when all the lawful groups get together) are outnumbered and the griefers tend to be more dedicated (and therefore more organised), so it's an uphill battle. We do try though. Never for one second think that because these guys are seal clubbing that they aren't also highly skilled dogfighters. They are. Because pvp is all they do.

Trouble with that is, the gwankers will have combat capable ships and will have no problems escaping if they deem they're overpowered. Which leaves the Ganker Gankers all dressed up and no one to shoot.

I never did get why people would actually openly advocate for ganking of totally defenseless individuals. Explorers have their ships stripped to endure these phenomenally long voyages, and hence can't fight back ... or even run sometimes.

So in the end, anyone starting a thread like this is basically just putting a LOSER sign around their necks since, let's be honest, only the mother of all losers would spend weeks or months of their time doing nothing but hunting down explorers in the deep deep black.

Also, morality is a measure of one's actions in regards to dealing with other people in a fair manner. It has nothing to do with legality. Ganking defenseless players definitely qualifies as questionable behaviour by any metric.

The tragic comedy that is refusing to adapt builds suitable to a scenario just continues to keep on truckin'.

Who'd have thought trying to land a 1,000 tonne spacecraft on a world with three times standard gravity using thrusters that would struggle to push a VW beetle up a hill would end badly?
Actually, there are threads about building exploration ships that consider this as well. And there are planets that you're recommended to visit and land to test your machine for this very reason. That's why I have a shield on my ship and engineered thruster and a distributor that allows boost... all must haves.

Besides, both the Pallaeni Massacre and hard to land planets is all what makes it fun. :)

I think a bunch of people got killed at one of the neutron stars as well, another thing a lot of the new players have no clue to do right.

The power creep has worked its due for players not being able to apply common sense anymore to their superships. Compounded even more so on the Anaconda. Anything goes with it, so surely it can land anywhere with all the juice that's been grinded for?
