If I wanted a 'radio-tuning' game I would have rather bought an old radio.

There is new stuff to find and we don't know if it has all been found by players yet either. We are still waiting to hear about some rumours in the codex. They have to be for something.

Ye will forgive my skepticism when I remind ye they been trotting that particular line out fer years...years of clinging onto that very slim hope based on Braben stating years ago the forge was seeded with stuff we simply havent found yet...and now yer trying to use that line on me? Save the fairy tales fer the kiddies max...Im way too long in the tooth to believe that old nonsense after all thats happened the past few years.

Its almost like a religion...nobody has any real tangible proof, just faith that something is there. When FD want something to be ¨discovered¨ it will be ¨discovered¨ when the name gets pulled outta the hat and the switch is thrown to activate it...isnt that how its been done in the past?

Im long past the point where that particular fairytale had any effect on me whatsoever but Im nothing if not fair so...Ill wait fer someone else to find whatever it is that hasnt been found yet and then Ill maybe start believing it. But between now and then, hinting that there is new shiny out there simply isnt enough...Im not in any way religious in real life fer exactly the same reason...it cant be proven either way and faith alone is quite simply not enough.

Im not done with this game yet but Q4 didnt live upto my personal expectations which is why Ive found it easy to keep my distance...I hope to one day rediscover my passion fer exploration, hell I even have a fully armed exploration cutter sitting on the edge of the bubble waiting to start the journey to colonia...cos I cant afford the transfer fee and I hate the bubble and cant stand to be there longer than is absolutely necessary. I was literally 100% ready to leave at more or less the same time as dw2 by more or less the same route, though Im not a part of the dw2 posse cos they travel way too slow and I set my own pace.

Nothing has changed in that regard...Im still 100% ready to go. The only thing thats missing is the motivation and enthusiasm and more mysteries and games of intrigue really isnt helping...quite the opposite really because it reminds me of all the reasons why I originally quit. Theres nothing out there beyond eye candy and all anyone has to the contrary is based on faith alone which simply isnt enough.

Ill eventually wrap my head around the keybinding mess I suppose but that enthusiasm I had a couple years back simply isnt there anymore. Ive been out there, lived fer near 6 month in Sag A in an unengineered T9 which btw also made it back without suiciding, so lower range (19ly) really wasnt/isnt a deciding factor fer me...I still end up getting to where Im going I just see more of the galaxy on the way is all...isnt that what exploration really means?

Whatever...the scanner on its own hasnt been enough to entice me away from other open world exploration type games...perhaps I was expecting too much from frontier but Ive been holding on by a thread since October 2017 when all this talk of the jesus patch Q4 started on the back of the QOL fixes. All that time spent and nothing but a new scanner to show fer it...my cup floweth over...not.

Ill stay on the back seat fer now and just watch and wait and see how the cards fall...Im in no real hurry to go and see what Ive already seen a hundred times already which equates to a galaxy full of empty rocks and snowballs. Maybe in the spring maybe not...time will tell if the faith is misplaced or not but Im in no hurry to confirm what I already know ^

Being silent to complaining customers is not logical. Its more likely they dont reply cause they dont yet have a reply.

Indeed, and this logic is actually in line with the comment from Will I posted a few days ago in this thread:

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to jump in here to say thank you for your feedback, and to ask that you keep your responses as considerate and constructive as possible. It makes it more useful for us to be effective with how we help in future.

We have communicated the incoming patches as and when we are able to share that information with you, and we are aware of the other issues that some players are experiencing. As mentioned previously, when resolving bugs we must first attend to the problems that the majority of players are experiencing as a priority, with the intention of solving as many problems as possible. Please try to keep this in mind if a specific issue that is affecting your gameplay experience isn’t fixed sooner than others.

We keep an eye on as many forum threads as possible, and always pass on community sentiment and feedback to the developers, who are well aware of the issues some of you are experiencing.

With regards to the Background Simulation issues throughout this thread, we'd like to point you towards a post we made the other day in the active thread about some of those issues. We are busy trying to find solutions to some of these BGS reports and need specific feedback in order to create the smoothest play experience for all Elite Dangerous players. Have a look at the forum thread here to see how you can help – apologies if this isn’t posted somewhere you would have seen sooner.

As mentioned just before the holiday break, we aren’t ready to share any more information about the future of Elite Dangerous with you yet, but as usual you’ll hear about it through all of our usual communication channels, including our social media accounts, the newsletter and here on the forums.

Thanks again!

Hey CMDR's :)

I feel bad to add to this threadnaught, but thought I'd throw in my 2 cents anyways..
It's also quite click/adjustment intensive, which can be a bit of a strain on the fingers after a while.
...good points...
Another issue I noticed was that the constant spinning around (often at odd angles) in FSS view using VR can induce some nausea, and I usually never get motion-sick, but it's a _lot of spinning!
...

I've been getting headaches in VR, and it defo comes from the FSS cause if I don't use it I have no problems*, I think it comes from gas giants blapping up on the screen, ludicrously bright after much dark backgrounds, almost burning my retina's.
I mean, I like the FSS but maybe one scan to populate all the USS's in a system, and shorten the scanning circle wait by not adding how many geological / biological features a planet has - we just need to know something is down there, a DSS can give us the numbers.

*and I can go for hours in VR without so much as eye strain.

I dont want to ruin anybodys fun but VR .... 2 tiny tv screens blasting this stuff right into your eyes... do we know what side effects long term use will have? The reason people get sick from it (im guessing) is that VR is heavy work on GFX cards and frame rates will be low or worse they will be swinging wildly from high to low. This is pretty much guarenteed to cause travel sickness.

I could imagine zooming into a planet would do this, the change from a no work empty screen to a screen full of hi res texture. (hi res ish anyway :) )

That's about bugs, not subjective dislike of new stuff. The take home fact from it is that they do communicate, but advise people to be constructive and considerate if they want to take part in that communication.

Im sure they wouldnt allow one or two non constructives to make a difference. Otherwise any feedback can be disrupted by one or two people who are dead set against whatever it might be.

Wait a few decades to see what happens to other people's eyesight, lots of Doctors don't use led/halogen lightbulbs for that reason they stick to filament bulbs.

The TLDR I think is don't do any dev bashing and deter anyone from doing it in a thread you want an answer to, as soon as the toxic stuff creeps in they just switch off.

It is a neutral comment intended to placate as many interpretations as possible Stigbob, your interpretation of the word 'fact' differs from mine (I look for evidence rather than relying on faith).

I'm not doing a petty terminology derail, you can either understand the context or you can't.

Maybe the community managers could filter it or something. I dunno, but same applys, all i have to do is go to whatever thread and keep harping on about how bad the devs are and they will switch off? They cant hand that weapon to people on this forum...imo.

You are the one attempting to derail this thread Stigbob, I am asking for clarification of a statement from Ian Skippy that you couldn't be bothered to help with (yet could be bothered to say that you couldn't be bothered).

I'd have someone assigned to find good feedback and then pass it on to the devs. I'd be draconian about dev bashing and use ignore prolifically whilst doing it. If you think about the focused feedback threads that's exactly what they seem to be doing, not even trawling the forum itself just looking at heavily moderated specific opinions on specific issues .

Ad hominem.
