Well done. Its a rite of passage. Now you give whoever told you about the free anaconda a whack over the head (or water out their beer) pick up a mug, some gin and off you go. The rest of the galaxy awaits.

cheers

Thought I'd travel to Hutton Orbital in the Alpha Centari System, said something about free Anaconda.
Man was that a mistake never going again, in the time it took me to get there from entering system I had gone over the shop, made dinner, eaten dinner, drank a cuppa tea and still not there yet, are u kidding me thats rediculus. What is the point of that, please let ships go faster when it's a very long way away cos that was total waste of time if I don't get Anaconda I will never go there again.
Oh yeah and wrote this post aswell, still another 2 mins to go.

LOL. Are you for real :).
Hutton Orbital is a standing joke in this community.

There are several stations that are far away from the central star.
Some people willingly and knowingly travel there, others like myself avoid those stations like the plague.

When the game was just released I, being a noob, unknowingly set course to Hutton, and after perhaps 5 minutes I realized how far away it actually was. I immediately jumped to a different system. No way in hell....

I will only travel to such far away stations if there is a fitting reward.
Such a reward could be credits (good selling prices for commodities, good discounts for modules etc), a unique and useful module, a unique ship for sale, or even just a unique station design, or other unique things to see.
As it currently stands I see no reason to go there ever.

Some stations are very far away but at hutton orbital they sell two rare commodities you can buy and sell like 70 ly away, its a good profit. See it as an initiation rite in Elite, everybody has to go there.

This has to be the cruelest prank in all of Elite lol. BUT at least you get an EDDB badge if you use that and there’s mugs I suppose. I took a data delivery mission that I didn’t bother to look too closely at yesterday. Just noticed it paid unusually well. Station started with a K but it was .14 ly (over 4 million ls) from the arrival point. Ugh lol.

Should have looked it up in the database before travelling there.
HO is currently out of stock with Anacondas due to high demand.

And I believe more people accidentally took passengermissions to hutton than went to visit their shipyard.
You also earn the right to tell those unfamiliar with the game about the free anaconda.

That’s how I ended up there the first time lol. A new CMDR on like my third day when missions are paying like 14k, suddenly get one that pays like 150k, arrive at system, and am met with “0.22ly to arrival”.

LOL, Nice fooling fellas. I think Yamiks might be to blame for this, his latest video shamelessly retells this old chestnut.

Makes me smile because about a year ago I made the Hutton Run many, many times. And doing so got me the Anaconda! Back then you could pick up data delivery missions to Hutton at all of the Sol stations, worth 4 to 6 million apiece. You could stack them for a tidy profit when you got there. *sigh* those were the days.

Yeah really had to grind for big payouts then. Not that I mind the higher payouts now to make things a bit less of a grind, but I’m crackin ice cubes for 100mil in 1-2 hours now lol. Beats Hutton runs but it’s almost too easy.

I've been to the Hutton Orbital a few times, it's quite standard outpost, and tolerable I guess. Just wished they would clean all that scrap metal and bottles floating around, the place looks like a mess. I was offered a free Anaconda, yes, but the pilot quarters had a funny smell so I decided refuse the offer.

Anaconda? Screw that.

I'd make the trip for a pimped out Eagle though.

Hell yeah! Actually didn't keep the Annie long, traded it in for a Cutter!
Came to love Hutton though, the Hutton Truckers were the first faction I ever got allied with. And the local news stories were a hoot. Read a piece one day about how the locals were fed up with so many visitors who wing up treating them like performers in some old times sci-fi show. 'They show up here in their souped up wonder machines like they own the place! It took my grandfather 6 weeks in a tin can to get here! Just take your mug and go!' lol, priceless.
