I know technically how it is possible, just didn't know they were going to implement it.
Don't know if I would want that option.
To me, if we are going to simulate 'real life story line' situations, etc. then just like in, real life, You can't just 'ban' your enemies or hostiles you don't want to deal with.
I actually think it would be kind of fun to have to at times 'run' across the galaxy either chasing someone or being chased and trying to get away. Whichever the situation dictates.
Oh I am pretty sure the devs will
not implement client-side ip banning for unwanted players. It's strictly a matter of the game using
my equipment, and if someone else is causing me displeasure - I can make sure they are unable to use
my equipment.
You can ban people in real life - that is what restraining orders are for, and that is effectively what you can do - if you are so inclined.
The idea though - is to
not have to do that. PK'ers and the LulzB00mH34dsh0t guys will just have to play nice with others - it will be a new experience for many of them, I am sure!
As for designed in-game PvP missions / assassination jobs - done properly and with good in-game reasons, that would work beautifully. What it
doesn't need is psychopathic players shooting other players for the lulz.
