Update 3.3.1

You apparently do not understand how software release numbering works.

TBH there's no hard-and-fast rule about software release numbering.

It's *nice* if software vendors stick to some clearly defined numbering scheme, but there's no law that states it *has* to be numbered as MAJOR.MINOR.REVISION

Obviously it helps

But take the Linux kernel as an example ... the numbers just keep going up on a per-release basis and even the MAJOR number isn't any indicator of some massive change to the architecture.

Version 5.0 is just released and it's just an *incremental* release following on from 4.20 ... https://www.theregister.co.uk/2019/03/05/linux_50

So the next release will be what it will be, whether it's 3.3.06, 3.3.1, 3.3.6, 3.4 or 4.0 (or even just 5)

Big fixes are scheduled for 2021.
Frontier were going to write another long article about it but they figured there is enough people here who’ll talk about how awesome that is.

I'm confused now.
So...in the next update we need an update to the numbering of the updates?

Good grief. Just fix some of the stuff please.:(

It's really glitchy/buggy. Desyncs a lot or something.

Chunks end up teleporting 2-3km away and such. The setting charges is wonky as well, sometimes they just explode immediately and no one gets the charge yield indicator... it just... kinda pops...

It's very odd.
mining in multicrew and wing is utterly broken.

I kinda feel like this is not the first time this kind of thing has been possible. I hope they ban anybody using it tbh, but they probabaly wont :( From what i read if you exploit to jump more than a certain distance the server flags it in some way. Maybe even making the client crash which obviously didnt happen there.

Trick here is to jump to fuel star.
For myself,i'd like the misump mechanic reinstated. Those days are gone.

Why ban anyone for a bug that isn't being fixed? Player using it is not hurting you. There's no advantage here, right? If there was an advantage in jump distance then the Anaconda would have been nerfed long ago, right? Same with other long jumping ships. Nothing to see but another bug.

It may have been mentioned already, but let's not forget how quickly they fixed the game-breaking effect multiple abrasion blasters had on core deposits....

Imagine trying to wake scan and follow that sidey in a tricked out gankstermobile.... You'd have to open the galaxy map to figure out where that system was... lol

The advantage is jumping 700ly. Anni only goes what? 250ly tops even with neutron boost. Ban them cause its cheating. Somebody uses that and gets somewhere before the next guy then they gained an advantage. You think this kind of thing couldnt be done using other means? I havent bothered to read the TOS :) but if its written like all the rest of them it will say that exploiting bugs is bannable.

If you empty your fuel tank, you can jump 740LY ...

I thought they fixed that already.

This is my point - if there is an exploit, then Frontier will patch it literally in days. If there are no exploits, then it takes them months to fix very annoying "big deal" bugs like disappearing stars, CtD, FSS and SC stutter, "System Scan Complete", etc, etc, etc. And like that last bug, there are bugs that are claimed to be fixed but never are, like the terribly broken shadows / shaders on base PS4.

So quick, somebody find another exploit so we can get our next patch!!!

We're halfway through March, and we've yet to get a proper bug fix patch for the 3.3 update that went live LAST YEAR. We've had a couple very minor point updates to deal with a very small fraction of the bugs (ironically some being seen as 'features' by many, like the 500+ LY jump range), but not a proper 3.3.1 bug fix patch. Considering both the number and severity of the bugs in 3.3, I find this both surprising and very disheartening. This time last year we already had our third major bug fix patch (3.0.3), with 3.0.4 being released just over a week later.

I personally don't mind waiting until late 2020 for new content, but please Frontier, don't neglect to fix your current game in the meantime.... Otherwise you'll start losing even your loyal fans.

If you're waiting for ED to not be riddled with bugs, i suggest you give up. The game is nearly 5 years old and basic mission bugs are still rife. FDev have 2 other franchises that will take priority. Accept ED for what it is or move on. You'll just rue the time spent waiting for something that's never going to happen.
