Theme Park Queues

On a funny sidenote: Every time I scroll through this thread, at first, I think that MrPizzaCrust posted a photo from a real theme park. That´s how realistic this game already looks!

It will be a modular thing. I am 99% sure.
Hmmmm. I hope but I'm not sure it's "modular", I think more it's depending on the theme.

If it's modular, then you can just remove it
If it's inside the theme you can just choose from differents prefab entrances

But I really hope you're right ! [yesnod][up]

Really like the idea of having different styles of queues :D All they'd have to do is use the modular grid and then let you select how many squares you wanted to be a zig zag block like in the original posts pic. And the idea of having guests jumping under queues and claiming on fences is awesome! Has anyone thought of the option to add queue announcements. So if you had queue jumpers or people on the fences you could get the standard "Please do not stand, sit or climb on the queue line fences". You could also add boarding instructions that many increased the speed guest get on and off your rides. Also I came up with an idea on creating ride experiences with special connector queues and a queue 'split' booth that would work really nice with this. It would also allow an easy way to add fastrack - https://forums.planetcoaster.com/showthread.php/110-Fast-track-tickets-queues/page4

I for one am looking forward to curved queue lines...Imagine having a dark ride inside a mansion type building, but the queue starts outside, winding around a fountain. Instead of boxing the fountain in, the queue hugs it instead and it'll keep the guests happy etc.

Also to add to my previous post and I'm not sure if this has already been mentioned elsewhere, but in theme parks today, especially in the UK, queue line shops and baggage handling booths are becoming increasingly more common. The shops obviously provide guests with drinks and snack if the queue is long enough and the baggage handling helps to keep you belongings safe and prevents mishaps on rides. They do however ultimatly slow down a queue. Maybe this would be an interesting option for increased revenue, better ride safety and happy guests knowing there stuffs safe?

I think they are, in the Dev Diary 3 they're really different, and they are a blue.

I think the que-entrances we have now and the one from Dev Diary 3 is the Planet Coaster-themed ones, don't you think? They fit the theme with coastertrack-things and the colors.
So hopefully we get all kinds of different ones with the rest of the themes. [yesnod]

It would be nice if they were able to implement the chain link queuing more common in real life that they could also create variable queues. I know at Disneyland they change the queues as the line gets longer or shorter so people aren't winding around when the line is short, but aren't piled up in the walkways when they're long. I figure you can make gates that switch open or closed based on line length to accomplish this.

As far as the large yellow entrance I'm pretty confident that they will have the options to turn it off or on as well as choosing other styles. Frontier has given us options in the past. I would guess they only have one in now as other styles are a function of ride customizing that hasn't been emplemented yet.

Cattle stall queue lines - we can already make paths and queues that go back and forth all they really need to do is give us the option to have a chain boarder. They have already shown diffrent boarders on the natural paths so adding chain shouldn't be a dig deal. Also if when we do a 180 turn it would square the corners.

Also if they give us vending machines, and preshow sections we would have pretty realistic looking queues.

One thing I dont like about queues is that I cant have the exact same flooring as the path I use so the queues always stick out like a sore thumb. If I use the black matting its close but the path has the pc logo and the queue doesnt.

Would love to have flexible queueing systems, where the guests don't have to walk back and forward through switchback queueing when the park/ride queue is dead. Maybe starting by drawing the quickest queue path and then having an "additional queue tool" type thing that adds queueing which only opens up when needed?
Also, having an attendant before the station that only sends a select number of guests up to the station at a time, as is normal with many parks, which would tie in well with the double sided loading on rides like wing/4D coasters where guests need to be evenly distributed to both sides of the station.

There is already a way to make the queues narrower and wider, and make them zig-zag back and forth. I don't think much needs to change regarding queues. I feel people find it necessary to make things hard for the developers. All you need is a choice of path style and a choice of railing in addition to what's already there.

Why not just play RCT3 if you don't want them to strive for better? Switchbacks are a must.

Right, and you only need one kind of coaster actually - that'd make it easier on the developers. They don't really need loops either because people aren't meant to go upside-down. And all the shops should just default to "food" because there's no reason to differentiate for the simulation cause it's just a game, you know?

I worked in 2 Parks. The Small Local one did Not have Que Lines what so ever. The Guests made their own lines. With over a 1,000 guests on a 4th of July Weekend in a Park 5 acres in size...... We did it. 10 acres if you include the Parking Lot.

The Larger one, the Ques had Chains and we could move the Chains around to change how the guest flowed through the line. Later in the evening, it would almost be a Direct path from the Start to the Entrance, at peek times, we made it as complicated as possible to slow the guests down.

I would love to be able to change how long the queue is and make quests travel different ways depending on how long the line is. The ideas here are great! Maybe have lockers before some of the rides too.
