The Next Update

Was wondering what does everyone think will be the next update to Planet Coaster? I hope more family rides and thrill rides and also would like to see a waterpark DLC.

I Would love to see a more generic update this time, maybe more lights -fading lights etc, More generic building materials and flat rides. Im really hoping for a height adjustable drop tower that could go along side the reverse freefall. that or a topscan XD

Yes, more generic things, hopefully a fix for unsmooth coasters, all walls / all textures options, all roofs / all textures options. Smaller walls (1x1 mtr pieces please).

If it's just an update I'd like an in-game, clearly marked, Challenge Mode Tech Tree.

I don't know half of what I'm researching or why to get what I want eventually unlocked. I like having to stay economically viable (ie challenge mode) but I dislike the effort to figure out what I need to research to get into a specific kind of coaster or thrill ride.

I agree. For most of the researches the cryptic messages for research are not so hard to figure out, as well as with the hybrid and wooden coasters, but most of them are gibberish that doesn't really make sense, or it does, but I don't want to break my head over it. If I wanna research the Rage just call it Rage and not "all about airtime"

I get that you want "targeted research", but that is not how Research works. Things get discovered mostly by accident whilst researching something else. I would rather have it in broad categories. Like research me a new coaster, or a new Thrill Ride. Maybe even divide it between Wooden and Steel Coasters even.

Yes, I get that's how it works with most researches (for science) but I doubt this works the same for coasters and rides. How do you accidentally research coasters and rides?

For example. Vekoma has a new test setup on their terrain (see pic). A lot of speculation is that they are developing an spinning boomerang coaster.
It's not that they just start building this and then suddenly at the end they "researched" a specific type of coaster. It's pretty clear where they are going to.

In the next update, I would love to see a psychocoaster, a top scan and an S&S Sky Swat. As well as a magic carpet!!! And maybe customisable drop towers. [happy]

What is a P(s)ychocoaster?

I would love to see those rides as well.

I see where you're coming from though most games use a more obvious tech-tree that can be planned around. Take my current project (which I should probably have played on a harder difficulty). I'm building a Harry Potter themed park and I really want to have as many coasters as I can to simulate flying. I'd like to be able to tell my research team "I want a coaster that will be as close to riding a broom stick as you can get me". As it is I'm guessing my way through the development cycle to get to the Mantaray coaster which works... but not my favorite approach.

That said, this experience might be my last on Challenge mode for a while. I like it but I keep bumping into "I really want to put this thing here... and I don't have it yet" coupled with "I haven't had money problems in a LONG time...."

I totally forgot to use that opportunity to talk about Powered Coasters again :D I really really really would like to see a Powered Coaster in Planet Coaster. It is a nice Family Ride and would Round up the Coaster Offerings nicely :D The last few Coasters were all about get crazy fast in the shortest time possible...... and then the ride is over. (exept the new Mine Coaster)

This is a more gentle Ride enjoyed by the whole Family :D

I don't really care what the next theme for the next DLC is, but I do want more flat tides. There is a track ride that I really want. It's like a 4 person boat that floats, but there are also conveyor belts for it to go uphill then go back down into the water. This would be GREAT for dark rides. I'm thinking of the ride 'Monster Plantation' at Six Flags over GA.

I was really hoping for a Pirates of the Caribbean Style Boat Darkride too.

I would like to have small attractions for Kids. The size should be not more than the size of the Whirly Rig. It would be great to get the possibilities to built a park area which are for children only. Also it would be great to have a tool to built signs for rides or shops or what else. For me the problem is, that I'm not the best "letter-builder" and if frontier won't release the missing signs it would be great to have a tool which helps building signs ( a tool with different letters in different forms). Different letters would be enough for me. Also I hope that a DLC will come which provides the steam-punk theme. Last but not least I hope that there will come more animatronics especially I'm missing animated characters and the possibility to change the dresses of the embloyees.

A psychocoaster is a rather new type of coaster. A good example of one is TH13TEEN at Alton Towers. The track drops with the train!

Ah yeah, I suspected something like that.
Intamin calls that a Multi Dimensional Coaster, other companies might probably call it differently..

But yes a coaster with such a free fall element would be a great addition as well.

Yes.

Lots more animatronics. Even if they're just "generic". A guy in a suit doing 3 things, a woman in a knee length skirt doing 3 things... just something to let us add some variety. We have a the entire spooky set and we only have the witch and a few simple things for her. Give us a warlock and casting spells or chanting....

I just want the black water thingy fixed. I don't even care about the placeable water for ponds or lakes, just want fountains, waterfalls, spider webs, sheer curtains, smoke to not just go black underground and to reflect placed lights not just ambient light. It's really cramping my style. [cry]

Also more generic stuff would be great, I agree.
