Coaster Friction

A cheat code is just a UI element that hasn't yet been built. [wink]

Which is laziness, that's why i hate frontier. They are lazy and just rushing out updates. They don't act on complaints/negative reviews everyone is saying more management and we have got hardly anything, you just build rides and watch them.

Thats my honest opinion and they can only change that.

I am amazed to see all this wasted-time discussing the friction of the coasters, while the main discussion should focus on the lack of stuff that is fundamental ! We are not on a technical site for coasters, otherwise go on NL2, but on a site of strategy and creation of parks, and when we realize that we still do not have " 2 m or 1 m width's walls " ( aso) , this rough me a lot. Also talking about friction, is not the essential thing .... I think the Devs should provide the game with missing stuffs and themes ............, rather than focusing on small details, without real importance ! I HOPE it would be done in the next November update ......( Fingers crossed )

Eventhough I too would love to see 2m and 1m wall pieces, I think finally being able to build realistic coasters in a game like this is much more fundamental than extra scenery.

Best is of course if we have both.

can't stand people who think their wishes are more important than those of others,
and even more, trying to redline them. [down]

Great to see this coming in an update!!!

Cheat or not, nice to hear we can adjust this very soon!

No, no , you don't understand what i mean ; my wishes are not more important than others , and i respect others , but i mean : it's a question of priority ...[up][wink]

gecaum, what's "more or less to prioritize" or what's "more or less important" is quite the same. each of us has a (more or less) different approach how to play the game, so it's (more or less) different what one of us sees as more important to fix (and based on this answer, what should be next in line for an update).

taking in account that all previous updates were about "new stuff", we could also say that it's most priority now to fix some of those existing features which still don't work well. but it's same thing : just one of many opinions and not (for all) the most important/most to prioritize one. we won't decide that anyways ;)

I'm wondering once we get rain in the game (Come on guys give us rain and umbrellas!) will the friction also change? Seems logical although I dont know exactly how it works in real life, i do know that when it rains too much they close coasters, it might be because of this or because friction brakes dont work as good. Or they just dont want visitors to get wet. [big grin]

anybody have any ideass when they release this update i hope its not in november when the game came out last year

Oh yeah, it rains and thunders in RCT3 but it's sunny all the time in PC. Which is good and bad. In RCT3 it is annoying that you can't turn the rain and thunderstorms off. I actually like PC without rain. Or there should be an option to turn rain on and off so you're not forced into it like RCT3.

So glad this is finally dealt with, THANK YOU FRONTIER! You guys are awesome!
Now only monster left to tackle, coaster smoothing.[wacky]

You actually can turn off rain etc in RCT3. you need to open a park in the scenario editor and change the climate to desert and save the park.

Realistic coaster friction setting

hey guys,

yesterday they finally released the update 1.3.9 and with it the new coaster friction setting. [woah]
Does someone already has a clue what the "most realistic" setting is?

The most realistic setting is probably the default setting. As that particular setting matches the real life counterpart.

But every ride responds different. So i don't think you can speak of a particular setting that is realistic... All of it can be realistic probably if you "imagine" your coaster has lighter / heavyer cars or has a specifik wheel type ;)

There isn't really a realistic setting, its going to be based off your coaster design. In real life friction is constantly changing due to weather, weight of the trains with people on them etc

I decreased the friction by 0.1 on my new mine train ride so it better fits the 6 trains running without the use of brakes. Slowed down my ride a bit with very little difference but good use.

I can't wait to adjust the friction on my mouse coaster :) Can anyone confirm if the friction setting carries over in a blueprint?

I don't think so, because every player has to turn on the control himself [blah]... But I'll try it out later anyways and correct myself if I'm wrong.
