Well I played a bit tonight 3.5 PTU.....and I was pleasantly surprised with the new Flight Mechanics changes it´s still far away from perfect but it´s a step in good direction and for anyone that HATED previous FM this patch is definitely worth it......

So, what i'm hearing is, its time to buy an Idris?

Good that there is progress. I still am bummed that this project appears to have gone pear shaped, but I still really want them to succeed. I'm still sold on 'the dream', just not on the execution. I'll keep checking in and hoping they pull it off. Until it's 'done', though, I'll keep to the sidelines.

Well I am far away to recommend anyone to buy the game just saying IF are still people in here who already have SC and didn't bothered with last few patches because they never liked FM,maybe it's finaly time to give it a shot.....

Refund experience from a 18K backer

I was at first shocked to stumble across this report because I thought all refunds were terminated with the latest "cop-out" TOS of CI-G and after reading it was shocked AGAIN to learn that it took this long for a pretty straight-forward procedure to go through. Purchases were documented and provided yet the company...probably busy creating the uber game left this guy hanging using up all available legal response times and then some.

I m pretty sure that if the game itself doesnt put you off due to its many bugs and raw state then having ANY contact with CI-G beyond the "here, take my money" and "you guys are so awesome" mails will put a serious dent into your confidence and adjust your opinion.

Anyway......3.5 and the new stuff. Mainly women....honk honk. Only glanced through a couple videos so far and I m not sure if my taste has changed considerably or if Star Citizens overall visuals have been tuned down? The character creation isnt really any better then in The Division and that was bad already IMO. Which wasnt really important as you hardly looked at your avatar anyway beyond the backside and movement as well as animations usually were so fluid that the face or haircut didnt matter.

In Star Citizen tho the character on a space station represents what.....75% of the readily available content? So you spent time watching the visuals, walk around and basically busy yourself with the character. Where is the fidelity? Was it lost somewhere on the way or did other games push the limit so hard that SC looks like an indi game to me by now? And I m aware that there are still some really stunning videos out there....the thing is....I dont see any of those great vistas in life streams where everything has a shabby and dirty look.

The few flight model reports tell of minor tweaks so is there anything impressive about it? CI-G "tuned" the flight model for 5+ months now, please correct me if I m wrong (I think I remember first reports of a new flight model coming up end of 2018), I dont have all the dates down anymore and honestly dont care about memorizing any of the trivial details that amount to the same as 5 YEARS ago....no game.

how fast were those? mach 5 or something? yet still no feel of inertia when making sudden small change of course.
The fastest ship reported (within atmosphere) was apparently the...Arrow i think at 800 meters per second on the moon Daymar.

That's the equivalent of 2880 km/hour and while they did tight turns none of them made extreme actual course changes but i do think there was too little effect of G forces but i have not looked at the video to see if I can see the shown G forces in the cockpit which is supposed to be visible on the HUD.

It sure does look nice and fun, I confess.

I'd love to have infos on how many out-takes, crashes it took to gather those 6mns of footage.

Well, apparently that was in 3.4.3 so most likely less than anything in the 3.5 PTU...and i think actual ship crashes would be far more frequent with the changes to flight mechanics as well.

So for 3.4.3...probably less but 3.5 PTU...let's just say it will be hard to count the amount of CPU crashes vs ship crashes.

Dunno about the new flight model as i have yet to try it out but it LOOKS damn fun if they get some proper racing going.

Wasn't this already posted here? And wasn't there the suspicion raised that the video was sped up? Maybe it was on SA, not sure. Someone posted a vid of one of those ships flying and it was going slower than shown.

I'm not saying backers would deliberately speed a video up to mislead people.... no siree, i'm sure they uphold the same standards as CIG... oh.
