I doubt that the community team won that award because of Elite Dangerous, the big push in 2018 was JWE.

What are we expecting them to say though? They have said what needed to be said, that the next significant update will come in 2020. Everything in between will be some QOL and new player experience which most of us probably wont care all that much about.
Now call me old school, but I don't expect people to say anything if there is nothing to talk about. In fact I'm grateful when the signal-to-noise ratio stays low, and I don't feel a game company needs to stay in touch with me until they have something to sell me.
I hear what you are saying but, in truth, "professional communicators" are no better when they have nothing to report. One only has to watch Parliament live over the past few weeks to realise thisThe only way FD can solve the communication problems is to hire someone who communicates for a living, and has done it for a good while. Someone who can also communicate with the in-house decision-makers.
I really do understand, however the decision on announcments is made higher up the corporate ladder within Frontier so the CM team will to a certain degree have to stick to the schedule of when announcments are to be released to the General Public so they are in all liklehood unable to say anything until they get clearance from higher up.
Really, I thought you were speaking for the world?I doubt you would of said the same thing if they had kept the apple platform alive
[pokes cooke with stick]
Oh, can only speak for myself by the way, I got no complaints.
The biggest update in ED life will drop in more or less 16 months...they are working on it in full production for nearly 1 year...they could tell us a lot without getting into the details...at this stage they probably know pretty much where they are heading and what will be in there. They could share screenshots, concept art, small videos, get us informed about the dev process.
Other companies are doing it. It's possible to give just enough information to keep the hype without over-promising.
People would talk more about ED & it would be free publicity.
Oddly enough giving away information on Elite Dangerous before there was a product to sell didn't diminish the hype, it built it.What would they gain from it, 16 months in advance as you said? There is no product to sell now or in a future near enough that they could leverage that hype for sales. Giving away things too early just dillutes the hype.
☄Thargoids invading .... now within one jump of Shinrata .... Sol under threat .... game is doomed and you think the world is not coming to an end?I really don't care that much. It would be nice for them to show us more or engage with us more then what they already do, but it doesn't bother me. It's just they way it is. It's not like the world is coming to an end.

The hype is in the presenter's apparent over-excitement & using phrases to suggest that we are getting something that is really outstanding, when in reality it's just meh!
Well that's not a problem for Frontier, they never reveal a thingThere can't be hype if you reveal too much.
