Space Force Presents: Operation Drag Queen

I should have said open instead of PvPers, but ya was thinking the point of open implied a PvP issue.

Edit:forgot the best part, some guy who has never left solo can have an opinion on drag drives in regard to his pve play that is just as important as your opinion of it in regards to pve or PvP.

Have you ever been shot with them? That's important knowledge when discussing weapon balance.

Rest assured after Fdev reviewed the reasonable feedback and has patched in changed, these people will claim all the credit for it. Probably without ganking that many people to begin with.

Who else deserves credit, the people with their heads in the sand?
The people trying to malign those who have put in so much to the community?

Any one of you complainers ever done something for the community like the PVE and PVP combat guides?

Ryan personally puts in a boatload of time helping newbs.
You guys are way off base.

Huh? You either can escape or you cant. You claimed you couldn't. Now you tested it and you repeated twice you can escape. That means you were, you know, the opposite of right. Let the shifting of goalposts begin!

Meanwhile the only interesting question is what the correct countdown timer would be. But I guess that isn't as exciting as doom&gloom raging.

I don't think I've ever said you couldn't escape. You're welcome to check my posts and prove me wrong.

I've consistently claimed this is a bad change for PvP, PvE, and the fun of the game. That's been the general call of the other people decrying this. Pretty sure a lot of people said escape is really your only option if you get caught in a Dragnet (lol puns).

Do you even read the forums? It doesn't seem like it.

As I have said many times before.

FDEV favors snare and cripple gank mechanics, and gains satisfaction when players whine on the forums about the behavior of players employing those mechanics.

There is no consideration for condi clear mechanics present in other games- making the alpha strike the rule of the day.

It's a weird pathology where a developer actually seems to thrive on crushing new players, or players that choose a pve playstyle rather than pvp.

I hope that you guys will focus your gank frustrations on FDEV instead of eachother in the future for the combat mechanics in this game.

What are we going to do about it?
We're going to do what we usually do, which is shoot people with them.

So business as usual then. For most it will be death is 10 seconds anyway, they might not even have the time to notice their boost has been rendered inoperative.

I'm more interested in seeing how it will work out in competitive PvP. Give up some DPS in return for the drag effect or go for the DPS and... reverskii?

I've both used drags and had then used on me, but to be fair the only PvP I do is escaping.
Every time you're hit it appears you get a fresh five seconds of no PIPs.
Thanks for info!

Now on to something that matters. How's that advanced docking computer working out? Did it get you out of the station cleanly?

Hmm. Just spammed missiles and frags at another squaddie and it doesn't appear that "boost effect isn't the total lockdown we all feared" but that it's "really frustrating."

I should've mentioned these are G5 FDLs we've been shooting.

Give up DPS?
You can put it on frags/pacifiers.

See how it works with rinzlers git gud guides type 7 setup. I dont think they will have the maneuverability to escape at all.

I don't think any of us have anything like that out here (Colonia, friendly reminder).

Having tried the change in a controlled environment it doesn't seem to be "No boost foreverz!" but I don't like it very much. It's gonna become a must have weapon (which is bad). Perhaps lots of seekers and frags mixed into wings. I dunno. See what the pros come up with.

That has now become significantly more difficult. Happy the fun!
I would like it if there wasn't a great divide between cannon fodder and can easily get away (from one attacker), but there is, and doubt being deprived boost will be a significant change in escaping. Will take more damage, and might have to eat a reboot, but it's not like my 'gank proof' ships are ever escaping with shields down or hull dangerously low.

Fast ships I have that couldn't eat a bunch of damage might get owned if they can't gain initial distance I guess.

Will be fun to find out.
