Roadmap leaked??

Tbh I remember about 2 years ago fdev filed a copyright claim to planet zoo (cant find the link but its somewhere I'll dig it out if anyone bothered) so it was an easy guess but that makes the Jurassic world and planet zoo leaks correct (including the rough release date of zoo) I'm starting to believe a little more but still have reservations

Looking good for 2020 ! I spotted the Cobra 🤫

But Planet Zoo was the worst kept secret for a while really....

That and the fact it really is usually is my fault.

Space legs (leaked allegation) confirmed then? hmmm....
And Planet Zoo has just been announced, looking a lot like it was build on Coaster, just like the ‘leak’ suggested.
It adds weight, if you want it to. An obvious extension, perhaps, to Coaster and Park... or just "easy" given the engine, layout and successes. I dunno; doesn't mean the rest is/was real but I guess that's the first tick box!
So the leak just has earned a point of credibility

As T.j said, worst kept secret. It was being discussed on these forums 3 years ago! https://forums.frontier.co.uk/threads/planet-safari-next-up.482022/ (you will also notice one of the names on their list is Planet Zoo, not forgetting they made Zoo Tycoon.)

Planet Coaster was released, then JWE which obviously was used for animals, a Safari or Zoo DLC was dismissed as coming for Planet Coaster. Add them all together and the next logical step was this being announced for the game being released this year. Plus of course the amount of time that people in the industry would have known about this for means it's much easier to get about.

The "leak" is still as transparent as it was the day it surfaced.

also just noticed the entire community team from planet coaster is moving to planet Zoo which looks like it adds weight to the Planet coaster in maintenance mode part of the leak

Where did you get that from, that they are leaving Planet Coaster to move to Planet Zoo?

I have to ask the big question here:

So What?

Would it make any more difference in any meaningful way to know the Frontier Roadmap as it does to know in which direction Kim Kardashian wipes her disgusting bulbous hiney?

If this knowledge somehow shapes your life, I suggest therapy.

I think it is not that unreasonable for people to discuss Elite Dangerous and its future on the Elite Dangerous discussion forum.

Oh and did you see how much better the water effects are looking in Planet Zoo compared to Planet Coaster? So you have lots of nice scenery being worked on over the last 3 years, then you have animals being refined over the last couple of years, and now you have water being refined even more this year...

If that doesn't point you towards joining my thinking of Atmospheric Landings coming in 2020, then I'm not sure what will ;)

All im seeing is how all this can apply to Elite. Its pretty exciting.

Well, the "leak" didn't say we won't get atmospheric landings, just that he has no information on that.
Which doesn't surprise me, procedural generation seems more like a programmers job than an artists job.

Do project teams work in siloed ( spelling ) secrecy in FD? Otherwise, it's not unreasonable to expect that FD employees have a pretty good idea of what is happening on other projects.

Maybe you are right, but the leak was right not only in the title chosen (Planet Zoo instead of Planet Safari, the main title in those thread you linked), but also was right in the date of presentation of the game (this month) and the release date (Fall) in October.

Of course, even the Leak been right about Planet Zoo, can be not really informative, but misleading, about other points of the leak, because I don't know about the true leaker agenda.

They announced the new community team as bo, chante and steggs who are the cms for planet coaster so unless the suggestion is that 3 cms cover three games (planet coaster, planet zoo and jwe) whilst 3 cms cover their one other title (elite) it seems that one of the games has to drop focus.

Elite has plans until 2020 and jwe has plans at least through this year where as we have nothing like that for planet coaster so it seems a reasonable conclusion that planet coaster is being dropped.

Of course fdev could just be adopting the crunch model for th community team and spreading them thinly across three games....

Not forgetting the predicted content of the DLCs that have just dropped... It's not just Planet Zoo, it's recent correct predictions.

That doesn't mean to say the leak is 100% - could be good guesses because Zoo was widely expected - just adds creditability weight.
