Where do you call home and why?

As per title :) Sounds like most commanders have a favoured home where they keep most/all of their ships and modules, and I'm interested to know where and why people have settled.

For myself, I'm based in Sak Manka, an imperial system near the 'bottom' of the bubble. High tech economy means it has a broad array of modules and ships, and the coriolis station, Impey Vision (love the name) sits just 10-11ls from the star, so very fast to get to once in-system. There are some materials on local planets, but it's not the best system for farming by far. Does have an encoded material trader.

Originally came here about 7-8 weeks ago. Long story short, I was feeling guilty after doing a 'wet work' mission that had me murdering civilians - and didn't even complete properly, causing me to abandon the mission with a bounty on my head. As penance, I dedicated myself to shifting refugees out of the Apishna system, which was dealing with the aftermath of a Thargoid attack. Turned out those taxi runs were amazing money/hour even in my little Cobra, and it's a decently fast way to grind ranks with the local superpower - and I really wanted that sexy Clipper*.

So I spent several days playing taxi driver and ultimately needed somewhere nearby that I could swap ships/modules. Sak Manka filled that particular need. And Impey Vision's flight control is staffed by a gentleman with a charming Imperial accent and he makes me feel valued and respected. That there is a man who knows to order the nearest slave to prepare a pot of Fujin tea whenever my ship approaches the dock. That is proper service, and you just can't find that everywhere.

Anyway, in more recent times, Sak Manka has gone to war with Apishna (which is still repairing), with the result that both systems are full of high grade signal sources and great for grabbing imperial shields and similar materials. I don't even care who wins, since I'm allied to the relevant factions in both systems. I have no intention of picking a side or getting involved in the conflict; may the best faction win because I'm with the winners either way. Marvellous.

*I have since concluded that the Clipper isn't really good for much besides getting away from other things. Which is a useful ability, if you're a trader or miner, and not very handy for anything else. Due to the location near the outer edge of the bubble, I would be willing to re-home to another high tech system, if I found one with the same facilities plus an accessible haz res. Bonus points for being along a superpower border, extra bonus if it is near all three territories.

LP 888-62.
Thats the system close to where I ended (Svass is was) when I finaly could buy that clipper, that was three years ago.
And that clipper brought me my first billion, back then when this was a lot of money. That was the first time I had two ships, and I had to store one.
Its a high tech system, with a military installation on ground. Really good economy, good outfitting, and everyting you can't buy here is avilably next door in Mandh. They have a captital ship dock.
I still have a lot of stuff there.
Most of my belongings I moved to Kamadhenu, the headquarter of ALD when I joined there.
And then I have a third home system not far from Kama in an undisclosed location, that's for when Kama is full of enemies.

Thanks to an exploit call the Road to Riches (RTR), I made Explorer Elite within the first 6 weeks following launch on the PS4. Went to Jameson Memorial and am still there today.

Sol, because earth. I base at Galileo because I like it as a central location. I haven't traveled far enough outside the bubble to decide to move elsewhere and I like using Sol as a personal RP.

Krait Phantom AT-12K "VIATOR". Home, sweet home, unless they not giving me a landing permit to the places better than the space port hangars.

Qurra Ring in Eta Serpentis.

I did a data transfer mission to Carver Station and noticed that they had easy cargo missions to nearby systems that my quaint little Hauler could easily handle. I stayed at Carver for a long time building rep and rank, but Qurra had better outfitting so I moved there. That station was offering good source missions for a long time and I used them to make a small fortune. I guess I just stayed there for so long in the beginning that I never really saw a reason to leave.

Right now, the whole Galaxy is my home.....as I pursue the life of a long range explorer. My true home is Alioth, however, as I am a staunch Alliance Supporter. Now if only they'd give us a proper military I can join.

LHS 317, Northrop Port.
Because it has RES close by, has a mat trader, is close to all other mat traders needed, is right beside an IF system, 18ly from Shinrarta and is the home of the 44th Vulture Syndicate, which is my squad and also our NPC faction. Need to say more? :D

I explore out of Pleiades Sector with a fleet of 4 ships of different ranges and styles - biding time until we get carriers and extend my range -

I wouldn't hold my hopes too high, carriers will be squadron assets and very likely a group effort to get one and maintain it, probably also making it jump.

The system where I started the game, Shinrarta Dezhra. Or was it iBootis? Nevermind, Shinrarta is home. Somehow they always try to kill me there. That’s why I love it.

Like the song says - "...where I lay my head is home."

My Bubble CMDR tends to keep his modules at Shinrarta, but otherwise home is whatever station is paying the most for whatever he's trying to sell. And of course my DW2 CMDR's home is whatever rock he lands on before shutting down...

Pretty sure I figured you out a couple years back. You were on some list. Fed, yeah?

Me?

I care about a bunch of places.

I recently relocated back to Hamilton Gateway. There was a Void Opal hotspot 7ls away and I had to smash out Trade Elite via mining before going back to AEDC business.

Hamilton was chosen as AEDC HQ because it’s halfway between Alioth and The Old Worlds. Great outfitting. DBX has a 20% discount here. (AEDC Old Guard say “You’re Welcome - it was a fun CG”)

Alliance FTW!

Kirk Ring in LFT 1103 is my main base. Because it's next to everything, close to the star and hey, it's KIRK ring * rips shirt *

Malthus Terminal in Pleiades Sector HR-W d1-41 is the home base of Operation IDA, I have some ships there.

And currently I'm in Colonia, Robardin Rock in Carcosa is my comfy vacation home.
