Galnet : Ship stolen from shipyard

I think this is another pointer towards Space Legs on the basis it again references stuff happening within stations, bases or ships. General political manoeuvring and high-level agreements are some ways above us but all this low level stuff seems well within our potential purview.

So far this suggests things like base assault, base infiltration, ship boarding and various theft type scenarios. Probably with wizzy new interface stuff and 'magical' nano-med healing stuff.

That's me though, perhaps I'm noticing this sort of thing because I'm anticipating it and building a castle from sand soon to be washed away by the tides of reality.

It's not stolen.
AI has now become sentient (in public view that is). The Guardian AI has always been sentient and have now found it's way into our ship computers.

AI wars coming. We're doomed.

PSA: Be careful when visiting Combat Aftermath USS in the future. It's alive :D

I'm not saying Legs are not coming, but the chances that galnet stories are related to game development are approx ZERO, NULL, 0.00e-999999.
In Galnet pictures we can see ships flying in the capital worlds through the atmosphere but yet we can't explore atmospheric worlds.

We had the new computer technology plot last autumn. It could have been used to introduce the new FSS and HUD modes.
In the end it was just a simple story with a couple of basic CG's (supply commodities to stations). I believe that people that write Galnet stories are not part of the development team (probably freelancers) and they are not informed about the game development.

Damn... I have to remove my Guardian FSD Booster now... And I'm near Beagle Point...

Agreed. It's as if those who write, and moreover those who valildate the writings don't realize how hype-inducing their stories can look like from a player perspective. And how damageable it can be when we realize then get used to the fact they never go anywhere.

We know something big is coming mid 2020, I can't imagine they're already starting the teasing and hype-train so far from that date...

Yeah, came out today, dated days ago, and now gone

Kincaid and Mahon Clash in Alliance Assembly

20 APR 3305

Prime Minister Edmund Mahon has once again clashed with President Gibson Kincaid, following the latter’s attempt to take control of government policy during an Assembly session.

Political journalist Vanya Driscoll reported for The Alliance Tribune:

“There were dramatic scenes in the Assembly as President Kincaid sought to steer debates on military strategy, making several demands for increased funding towards new fleets.”

“Prime Minister Mahon eventually stepped in and rejected these proposals outright. Kincaid was further reminded that a prior request for executive presidential powers had been unsuccessful, even if he insists on behaving otherwise.”

“Although he still has supporters, a number of councillors have privately opined that Kincaid is now a toxic presence at odds with the Alliance’s ethos.”
aaaaaand - it's back again, the amazing boomerang Galnet article https://community.elitedangerous.com/galnet/uid/5cc1717a8919b159fb3952d5

Proud to say I was there and I've been trolled by FDev! 😂
I went there thrice.
First with an explorer, then with an AX FDS and then with a PvP FdL.
Got royally rekt by SDC twice trying to white knight , but it was fun.
But I missed the worst, when the Hydras were instancing and Gnosis fined you for defending.
When I logged back in, the worst was over..

Interceptors against explorers. That must have been a fun scene.

Is there a mega-thread I can read? I was still pretty new in early September, probably just getting into my first non-sidewinder.

That one was entertaining 😆

Same for me, I could play only in the evening and there were only harmless scouts near the gnosis.... I still wonder why FDEV never replicated the same combat scenario. For me it was a flop because I was there for exploration only but if I had been interested in fighting bugs that would have been a glorious event...

Galnet doesn't seem particularly linked to the actual 'game' apart from perhaps in the most broad and mundane of ways.

Galnet? I actually feel sorry for the poor schmuck in Cambridge that has to come up with such bilge.

That's no job, is it. Those thought-out but ultimately useless, unread or, at best, read but immediately discounted words.

That dude needs a pizza.
