Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

It may be time to ditch the ADC. For auto launch at takeoff in crowded stations, the ship just moves around and, today, it decided to crash into the internal structure. The CMDR who wrote the guidance algo's needs to take a look at the AI - was it a Faulcon DeLacy operative? Gutamaya? Although I took no damage, I didn't even get a "Danger, Will Robinson!".

The SCA is also somewhat primative. I'm assuming the AI here will eventually learn how to circumnavigate obstacles in direct LOS and also when to reduce thrust to 75% at the optimal time but I guess the code is still in its build phase.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch...

That 'Conda is tempting.
Yeah,you may have been 'nudged'.
I don't have a lot of time on it,but i did buy a sidey to test the new features when they were introduced,so i did see a lot of commanders queueing up to exit, all very cautiously. Seemed to take an age,but it was an orderly exit. But it's easy enough for a commander to rise from below. If your exit speed is low, there shouldn't be a problem with security, but the fine line between deliberate and accidental narrows here.
Didn't see any effect from the sca,but i didn't read the manual,so i didnt use it effectively.
Are you lining up for a Hutton run? :)

I rather enjoy manual landing; the ADC came out just as I was mastering it so I passed. I wanted my effort to pay off. Maybe when I'm tired of it I'll grab one; and maybe by then they'll have it more sorted.

I think they will be good for traders and maybe combat, but i'm rarely near a station, and half the time i don't know where i'm going anyway (excepting 'that way'),so it would be more like ballast for me,but i can see it has potential. If it ever gets planetary landing ability i might have another look, but i like manual landings too much to utilise it fully.

Strange that your not the 1st person to complain about problems with the new systems...
I have had only trouble as other commanders with the damn new FSS bug, and they are taking theyre time to fix it, really anoying!
yesterday i resume exploration in my ASPX and came up with a system with 4 suns, and planets, but when i went to scan the FSS went wild, since im a "leave no stone unturned" i proceeded closer to scan them the old way, it was a boring 400Kly+ trip, but then i used the FSS again and didnt got the same error and was able to scan them, well worth it since there was 2 terraformable there, a ELW, a Amonia one, and several moons with geological and biologicals in them, so this should gimme some good return credit wise.

But back to the subject, ive been running the SCA and ADC on both my ASPX and Corvette and no issues at all until now, probrably lucky, or the problems some describe is limited to bad coding in specific ships...

There is a patch due on Tuesday next.

I have had no issues yet with the Advanced Docking Computer although I haven’t used it much its tendency to queue politely when exiting while we only have five minutes is a little disquieting, the Super Cruise Assist module has given me some issues but I think they are mainly attributable to operator error.

Currently I am out in the Interstellar Initiative region bookmarking and considering trying to get a blueprint from the Guardians of the Galaxy or whoever they were. Also admiring my new decal.

Well, Sidey vs Scouts is fun, but not really achieving much.
I've jumped into my T-10.
4 AX multis, turret, take care of business while I practice with 2 size one railguns (Sturdy/plasma slug).
I think I'm improving. (y)

Finally got back into my Phantom and headed out into the black. Currently somewhere between the first and third stops on the Colonia highway, likely to skip the 2nd because I'm quite a ways up above the galactic plane.

This unremarkable metal-rich world has Arsenic and low gravity, so I'm going to see if I can top up my supplies. Not sure why As is so much harder to get than Yttrium or Polomium 🤨

Edit: 1 arsenic and a distinct feeling of being in a movie.

Most ppl overlook the fact the T10 is the ship with the best armor ingame, so a excelent starting point for an anti thargoid ship, u can get it with good shields at the same time u can tank it out hull wise, putt some AX turreted guns on it and it works miracles... And if new improved multicannons come that can handle both human and thargoid alike, that would breed new live into the ship.

I plan to make my AX T-10 in the future, but i lack the 900 million + i need to build it, so its on the to do list...

Freaking finally. After a very long and arduous detour around the Orion Complex, I finally arrived at Epsilon Orionis. There were a great many sights to be seen along the way, a few discoveries and lots and lots of first maps! I learned a great deal, most importantly, how to plot manually (after a fashion, I'm sure). Now to sort through all the screencaps! Photolog forthcoming!

Good to hear on that patch...exploration with that damn FSS bug has been un-fun.

Didn't try the ADC exit function...I admit that I still get a kick out of boosting out (ship size permitting...and even then I have boosted out on accident in my Beluga once. Quite the unexpected YEE---HAW! Mixed with HOLY S--T! moment LOL).

Continuing the hunt for Arsenic. Not particularly because I need it for an immediate purpose, just that it's one of the lowest things in my storage and at some point it's going to become a bottleneck. Maybe I should be smarter and down-trade the higher grade materials that seem to be more common, but then I'd miss out on some fun little moons :)

This one has been very generous so far; out of 8 crystal fragments at the first site, 7 of them were Arsenic. Definitely going to hop around another couple of sites and see if it's a similar ratio elsewhere.

Edit: second site looks completely different to the first...

Waiting for the patch on Tuesday and subsequent reports as to it’s effectiveness in fixing the blasted FSS.

In the meantime, removing my geraniums and fuchsias from the cold frame, planting lobelias, and unwrapping the agapanthus before mowing the lawn.

Yessir, it’s nothing but rock and roll lifestyle for me, let me tell you.

Dont need no FSS bug to halt my progress :giggle:

I haven't found it too bad,It seems to be if there are more than one star is in the system you fly towards the second star, once you are in range and pick up signal from the secondary,FSS scans normally except for the primary. Then fly back to that to scan everything there.,thus avoiding the bug and saving the route, which has settled in to a nice way to stretch the legs, and lots of sightseeing.

RE: buggy (pun not intended)
What are your terrain geometry settings?
It's been a known fact that some planets' surface doesn't quite line up with the collider geometry if you have your terrain quality decreased. (e.g. the visual geometry of the surface is simpler and flatter than it really is... ehm... "under the surface"). So sometimes you're sinking, sometimes you're floating. So you could try playing with that.
