Roadmap leaked??

Dunno about the rest of you but I had hoped this was all fake because "base building" in Elite Dangerous? Why the hell would we want that, its not NMS.
True. I'm not sure I want NMS or Minecraft versions of it, but maybe we'll get more of that you can set up your "home" base somewhere. Choose from 3 or 5 different buildings, and that's it. No LEGO building, just plonk a bunker here or there.

Just thought of something, I was just reminded of the capital ships... there's no mention of them in the leak...? Will we get them at the same time? Or sooner? Or not at all?

That's a brilliant idea. Someone needs to do a huge AMA for the leaker, and we'll just tune into their twitch stream from now on. Fontier problem solved.

All that soon and no promises is a stupid meme anyway. Here's someone whos communicating with us, haha!

Also, will we be able to hunt dinosaurs on Jurassic planets?

No i don't think its likely that the same class of life will form not on earth. It would be a dumb concept to put into lore anyway. I think its awesome how they've kept it at fungus and starship troopers so far. Cosmology is fiction to date anyway though so my guess is as good as yours.

Most offensive part of this new JWE reveal is they have the audacity to charge 13 quid for it.

IF thats the future that awaits Elite 2020 then they can keep it.

IIRC Horizons was £19.99 when I bought it at launch on Xbox.

I would imagine a comparable price for the 2020 content.

That would be more than reasonable.

I suppose if I were a flat screen player I would be all over space legs (assuming good implementation, compelling gameplay, etc), but as someone who plays solely in VR, in a custom built seat/hotas setup, I just don't see how the 2 are going to get along. I suppose I'm the minority, but Elite in VR is still just about the best VR experience you can find. I hope that doesn't change.

We are not minority and I totally share same opinion.

I'm a minority of a minority maybe; I play Elite in VR and I have no problem moving in 1st person even when sat (I know that makes some folks feel ill). I imagine I'd see what works better once Elite's big update is out, but I still had loads of fun sitting when I played SkyrimVR and other games.

(Most games I would stand cuz it seemed the best way to play, but Fallout 4 and Skyrim, when you're playing you're in for the long haul, so I'd sit to make it easier, using the Touch controller to turn)

And while I'd love motion controller support for any FPS portion of Space Legs, I'm ASSUMING they won't have it (maybe they will, who knows), and with no motion controller support there's not much likely reason for me to stand and play. It is the best VR game around still, and I hope they keep that up for the new era.

Opposite instinct from me as a VR player. Sims are good but 'put me in the middle of the world' standing 'first person' is the peak experience for me.

I've got my fingers mighty crossed for virtual joysticks & touch panels. I'll sacrifice the HOTAS hands-on accuracy for a 'tactile' virtual cockpit & easy transition to foot, for sure. (VTOL and Ultrawings suggest virtual sticks etc can be solid in a 'sim' environment at least).

Crossing my legs for Lone Echo style EVA too...

/dreams ;)

Take into consideration this could be a marketing ploy, take it for what its worth on the one hand we have every single thing they release they get panned into the ground. So as a idea if they have a "leak" they can test the water before committing to code they can also see how well received it would be before pushing in they direction.

To me this leak is a intentionally test to see how well a new idea would be received which is why nobody has been fired for it.

The rest of the things are also there to give it credence as to get everyone talking about it. Look at it this way the things that have been announced were coming anyway and the Ghostbusters tie in would have been negotiated ages ago so would have been decided as is planet zoo.

Just my input into this discussion and gives you guys something to think about :)
