Why do you care? You can do everything you can when not notorious as long as you stay away from the systems you have the bounty in
Like... changing modules free of charge?

True. You have to pay extra on that one ship to swap modules. Hard life being a criminal eh? Maybe you should consider a more righteous life, seems you don't have what it takes to be a criminalLike... changing modules free of charge?
You might need to clarify; were these "wing missions" or not, and if it was a wing mission, did your mate share it with you?I think some of you are missing the point that I joined a wing mate and got notoriety for killing mission targets. These weren't my missions, or my preferred choice of activity,

Cuz he was wearing a mask, of course! A Mexican wrestler's mask... and nothing else.So you join a friend robbing a bank and don't expect to be charged as an accomplice? Basically if you are winged up with someone you share in the rewards, why wouldn't you expect to share the punishment as well?

Damn it, thats what I am doing wrong.Just kill people on your days off...then go visit friends a couple of towns away for the weekend until your notoriety wears off.)))))
yes, well said.Besides, when my notoriety is above 0, it's because I've destroyed a few player ships. But I wouldn't call the OP a criminal just because he shot down a few wretched NPC's.![]()
I should clarify. I never actually saw the missions just helped a wing mate. That being said, I think there were quite a few missions my wing mate had stacked up at once, some were NOT wing missions and I think this added to a lot of the confusion we had whilst playing about identifying actual mission targets. He told me they were targets for a spec ops mission so I jut went along.....You might need to clarify; were these "wing missions" or not, and if it was a wing mission, did your mate share it with you?
If it wasn't a wing mission, and just a mission your mate in the wing had, or it wasn't shared with you, then those weren't valid targets for you, thus you got notoriety, which is how notoriety is meant to work.
If it was an actual wing mission, and it was shared with you, then either;
Because your mate got notoriety, I'd suggest it was point 1.
- You were destroying non-mission targets... wing massacre/spec ops missions are notorious for having non-targets in them; or
- It was a bug.
You probably misunderstood something. I wasn't complaining, I merely pointed out that your statement ("you can do everything you can when not notorious" ) was false, technically.
Besides, when my notoriety is above 0, it's because I've destroyed a few player ships. But I wouldn't call the OP a criminal just because he shot down a few wretched NPC's.![]()
Current system is a huge improvement to the suicidewinder days. I had so many bounty hunters following me around netflix was lagging for the entire neighborhood.I miss the days before the Cr&P update.
Just another ropey design decision to add to the pile of bad ideas.
I would love a roll back to 2.4 classic crimes!
Sandy has gone now, must we keep his bad ideas?
Shame really...
PvP deaths are a different thing and should be treated as such
Why ?
The impacts of "pointless" murder of NPCs on the BGS are far greater than the impacts of a player's death. There's countless historical threads (which I won't cast positive or negative judgement over) where players have, for some observations "broken" an activity through relentless, unaccountable murder of NPCs, sending systems into a state of lockdown. Why ?
Why ?
Killing NPC is playing a computer game and blazing your own trail. After all, doing exactly this in Anarchy systems is all OK, nobody cares.
being killed by human players is just annoying and interfering with personal narrative. People do care.

"Murderhoboing" is also still a highly effective means of destabilising a target faction without much negative consequence. Notoriety combined with interstellar bounties makes it somewhat difficult, but not a huge amount.

Not at all. Not in the slightest.Being killed by a human player is the same as being killed by another NPC, the only difference lies in how likely one is compared to the other when faced with that possibility.
