PvP Interdiction Help

I was in Sol next to the sun going to the station Abraham Lincoln in my Cobra MK III called Noble. I was interdicted by a player but I don't know what ship they were in. I read a lot about not getting interdicted so when I was, I submitted so I could high wake out of there. But when I came out of supercruise I got annihilated. Anything I can do to prevent this in the future? Are there any ships I can get that would be good for avoiding player interdictions or could not die right when I slow down? Also, I'm kind of poor so I only have 5 mil credits.

Put 4 pips to systems, two to engines, boost towards your attacker until your FSD is online again, start jump, continue boosting towards your attacker. Chaff by the way if you have it.
And engineer your ship to maximum grade. A MkIII isn't very tough depending on loadout, but very fast, maneuverable and a small target. Please post your loadout here.

I am rather new to Elite Dangerous so I don't really know what you mean by loadout but I did the pips and then got killed before I had time to turn or think.

I'm still in Sol because this just happened. I'm docked at the Daedalus space dock thing for anyone wondering. This is now outdated.

Hello Commander!

After our conversation tonight I thought of a few tools that could help you. If you already use these, great! If not, here you go:

First up is EDMC. It will help you get your exact build uploaded and keep track of all kinds of stuff. https://github.com/Marginal/EDMarketConnector/wiki

Next up are two shipyard programs where you can build ships: https://coriolis.io/ or https://edsy.org/ Both are great tools.

We absolutely need to get a copy of your build uploaded. All the flying tips in the world won't help if your ship isn't up to snuff. 4E shields? No chaff? No good!

Once we have that we can help improve your build that way the tips given in this thread will help more.

EDIT: This is a Cobra III I threw together with what I had available. On vacation from Colonia. That ship is not great, but gives you an idea of where to go. https://s.orbis.zone/3--i

Once we see your build, we can make it better.

You didn't gank him on vacation, did you? 🤨

"Your loadout" means you hack your ship into Coriolis as Phisto linked and then we can tell you what you need to do.

OK, so, I'll be as gentle as I can here. Your build needs a lot of work. But that's OK! That's why we're here.

I've created a non engineered build with Coriolis. I find it a little easier to read than EDSY. https://s.orbis.zone/3-_4

A rate the modules and trade a little bit of cargo capacity for armor. Get rid of supercruise and detailed surface scanner so you can pack in more lovely armor.

You'll notice there is no shield. On a ship this small I don't think it'll do you much good. Like we discussed in game avoiding interdiction in the first place is best. Use the bandwith monitor to know when players are in your instance and if you think you're in danger AT ALL drop out of super cruise (especially if you're in busy player systems like Sol, Deciat, etc). Use emergency drop if you have to.

If you still get interdicted try to beat the player if you want. Submitting is a good idea as well. Should you get pulled down turning and boosting past the attack can work but keep in mind the Cobra is VERY thin. Boosting back at the attacker can just present the top of your ship, which is like shooting a giant pancake. Boosting away in a straight line with vertically thrusting up and down and deploying chaff/heatsinks might work as well.

Great thing is Cobras are cheap and you can learn from your mistakes.

You mentioned you might want a different ship? What were you thinking about using?

With only 5 million to your name I would switch everything to D rated and put a size 4 refinery and size 4 cargo bay in.
Fill every other slot with collector controllers, a prospect limpet controller and a detailed surface scanner.
Your hardpoints should be two size 2 mining lazers.
Then hit a ring with one of the three P's in it. (Painite, palladium and the other one)

Old fashioned Lazer mining will earn you enough to buy Phistos build plus rebuys. Then and only then, when you have some cash in your pocket and a fancy ship under you it will be safe to re-engage .

Oh and don't forget your Limpets.

Oh gosh! I didn't see the five million thing.

Yes, do what Ouberos said!

I just need to find a station that has the stuff. Any suggestions?

Filter for Hi Tech economies on your Gal Map. They should have most of what you need. You can use third part apps but flying around finding stuff is a good way to learn.

Just be wary of hi traffic popular systems until you have several more rebuys and a few tricks up your sleeves.

Not seen this mentioned but;

Try fighting the first half of the interdiction. I know that sounds like a bad idea but hear me out.

You can submit at any point. See if theyre any good at the interdiction mini game. Youd be surprised to see how many CMDRs arent that good at it, maybe theyre too used to people submitting?

If it starts going really bad you know to throttle down and submit.

Thats what i do anyway. Might as well try!
