ED is a bit on the light side of sims.
Jeez I wouldn’t want you in charge of marketing! The next update will be as misearble and meagre, riddled with bugs as the previous ones. FDEV/Cobra engine is not capable of delivering a modern game experience. Talking about game - apart from the superb flight model, there is simply no "game". It's great for pew pew and racing and that's it.
ED is a bit on the light side of sims.
And Elite is what then? A ship driving game in space?
All this nonsense about 'cartoon' graphics. It din't stop Blizzard have 15m+ subscribers playing their game did it. So please, stick to someone real and tangible. The realism of your Elite worlds stops the moment you visit some system you never heard of. And I'd wager, that's 99% of players.
And I expect that it's still on the roadmap.I don’t think that many would dispute that Frontier have held good to their word that much would not be implemented at release, but Frontier laid heavy emphasis on what would be coming after release and much of that is still to come (minus whatever comes with 2020 vision).
I wouldn't call ED that boring, but ymmv.Yes, but it is staunchly in the genre. Lots of people literally call it "Euro Truck Simulator in space," as if that's a pejorative.
I'd say YMMV is the key to all of this "Elite is the greatest game" vs "Elite is the most boring game" arguments. I think Pokémon Go is a stupid boring game, but to declare that as a universal constant would be silly. Different strokes for different folks.I wouldn't call ED that boring, but ymmv.
Not really, in Sims you can fast forward time so you don't have to wait for something to happen.ED is a bit on the light side of sims.
OK, but where can I plant seeds in ED, then? Not really, in Sims you can fast forward time so you don't have to wait for something to happen.

Better then it not being on the road map.Not much good on a roadmap![]()
Really, the 10 year plan runs from release rather than from the start of development? I missed that one. After 2020 they still have 4 years to implement it.
Yes it is a small team and to be honest, it shows.People are completely missing the point in comparing NMS to ED. We're talking about atmospheric landings and planet variation with flora and fauna. Yes, they are cartoonish in NMS but it demonstrates that a small team can achieve it. Whatever the procedurally generated stuff looks like, is another subject entirely.
NMS is a survival game with base building and the occasional foray into space, quite a different genre from ED.

Of course I do, you don't have an idea what I am talking about, which is fine. Look, if you fancy running around a Mc Donalds ball bath with a super soaker that matches the color of your heels all the while being chased by a beluga with 6 legs, go knock yourself out. If you bring it to the table in a discussion about howED is however, do not expect me to nod in agreement, with a straight face.
