Best Guess on How much for the Fleet Carrier will cost

Having not read right through this thread i forwardly apologize if this has been brought up prior to my post here:

But we seem to be talking a financial cost, but is anyone considering if there will be a 'RANK' cost to owning one of these behemoths? Cutter and Vette both have Rank grinds to complete, so it might be safe to at least assume that owning one of these craft might be a new rank to grind out like errrrrr 'God' maybe or a 'Braben' Rank ????
It will only be available to quad elite pilots I heard.

I did not watch the above video but I believe that info came from a thread here on the forums. At best it was very weak information. I'm a little busy to go searching for the thread but maybe someone will know what I'm talking about and link it.

I'll take ya word for it, hardly worth going out of your way to prove it old news. Thanks anyway

10 bil is ludicrous. Should be 1-2
Hummm, a bit of a dilemma.
With a price of 1-2 billion I could sell my current fleet and just about afford one, but then I'd have no ships to put on it.
🤣
But supporting the 10 billion option, I'd need to heavily up my work rate. Void opal mining here I come.

How about... 5 billion? Would that be unreasonable to everyone.

Compromise - an agreement where nobody is happy.
🙄

Seems "Down to Earth Astronomy" got some info that Carriers will cost less than 20 Billion. With the actual FD quote being that 20 Billion is "far more than you need"
For those still interested in price estimation.

20B being far more than you would need is worrying. I really don't want them to be a thing that everyone has. They should be achievable by anyone, but it should take enough effort to get one that someone who doesn't really want one or really need one wouldn't bother getting one.

Otherwise there's just going to be hundreds of indestructible, persistent carriers everywhere.

I don’t think the galaxy would be littered with them if they were free. I’m betting they will only show up on nav panel if you have permission from the cmdr.

If you are trying to follow a hostile cmdr to their carrier, probably have to drop in on their wake.

If this is end game then it needs to be reasonable . 10 bil base cost is not reasonable

There are going to be lots of them, anyway. Regardless of price.

Been playing since release (2014... wasn't it?)

Current assets according to Inara = Credits: 147,072,949 Cr / Assets: 1,088,731,723 Cr

Granted, I don't play much really, just once in a while I play for a few decent sessions - but hey, this might help with your estimates.

Anything less than 10B for total cost would be super unrealistic and make it easier to get than a fully engineered ship (starting with 0 engineers unlocked).

Not even exaggerating I've made over 400M/h before. But even with 200M/h thats 50 hours to unlock. How many people here have over 40x that in total hours.

CQC is great, it's just impossible to find a game (at least late at night)

A contradiction of terms right there.
.
5 bn for a carrier, 100 bn to fully stock it. Welcome to the new and improved world of grind. By the time you’re through with the grind they introduce atmo landings (year 2035)

Remember that not every player is one of the triple-elite multi-account players you find on the forums. Far from it. According to inara, less than 10% of players there have even reached combat elite, and that's before you account for the sample bias of everyone on there being the sort of person that's into the game enough to actually have an inara account and sync up EDMC and so on, so the real number is likely to be considerably less.

Most players I run into, a hold full of opals is more credits than they've ever seen before. If carriers are priced in the single-digit billions, I'm sure all the people who have a lot of posts on the forums and the subreddit will all have a carrier, of course we all will. But we're not exactly a representative sample of the entire playerbase. There aren't many other games that I bother registering on the official forums and get into balance discussions on, it has to be something I'm really into, and I assume anyone else here is also putting in above-average hours.
The point is, sure, all the people who live and breathe this game and have been playing for years and have gigantic bank balances and know all the tricks to get even more gigantic bank balances will have a carrier, but they're not as big a sector of the playerbase as you might think, they're just overrepresented on the discussion boards.
