ANNOUNCEMENT September Update out now!

Is this intended? Or is this part of the tutorial prompts/pop-ups that can't be disabled?

I appreciate all the handwork and effort put into the update and for the most part the changes look good. However, that being said, there should be an option to toggle off/on assigned key bindings appearing on the screen. Or at the very least, an entry in an .xml file that can be added and/or edited.

Leave the assigned keybinds on for the tutorials if you must. I don't need to know what {insert explicit adjective} key and/or button combo to press to disengage from supercrusie; after all I have over 6300 hours of game time and I am the one who assigned the keys in the first place. All it does is cause an annoyance and distraction.

Ever heard of beta feedback?

edit Perhaps you could have the assigned keybind for the action to display on screen only if it is the default assigned by the game.

Yay update! Nothing like rolling out of bed, putting on the coffee, starting the game update and getting on with work.

:D S

Hello there,

The team have been looking into the issue regarding Engineered Modules appearing unengineered when in module storage. We can confirm this is a visual bug and you have not lost any progress. As a temporary measure, you can retrieve a module from storage and relog, and the modifications should then reappear.

As always, we'll be looking to resolve this issue as soon as we can!
Are you seriously telling me I'll have to put 112 modules into ships and relog just to know what they are? I don't have the space in ships for that - Frontier, this is a very poor show and obviously untested and not acceptable!

Greetings Commanders,

The September Update is live now! Read the Patch Notes here.

In the September Update comes the following:

New Starter Experience

We've introduced a new starting experience meaning that it's easier to pick up Elite Dangerous than ever before!

Under the tutelage of Pilots Federation instructor, Theo Arcosta, new Commanders will be led through a fully-voiced experience before being left to pilot their own starter ship, the Sidewinder! Throughout the experience, Commanders will learn the basics of space flight, scanning and combat as listed below:
  • Basic flight controls and scanning.
  • Supercruise and navigation.
  • A combat exercise around a megaship.
  • Completing one's first Hyperspace jump.
  • Docking at a starport.
  • All of the training will include voiceover across all of our supported languages.
This new starter experience will also be added to the existing list of training simulations, found on the internal panel of the Commander's cockpit, meaning even the most veteran of pilot can still experience it.

New Livery System
  • Revamped the livery UI for applying cosmetic items and Game Extras to your ships.
  • Commanders will be able to access their ship livery from the main menu, so even if their ship is not docked at a starport, they will be able to change up the ship's appearance on the fly!
  • The new store will allow for even more detailed previews of available customisation options across all ships, as well as giving Commanders the choice of purchasing individual items, as opposed to being limited to bundles of customisation options.
  • Please note: some Game Extras may not yet be available for purchase in the Store, affected items will be rolling back out in the coming days.
New Virtual Currency: ARX
  • ARX can be purchased, as well as earned by simply playing the game, to acquire Game Extras such as Paint Jobs, Ship Kits, Bobbleheads and more!
  • Commanders can earn a total of 400 ARX per week, which get added to their account there and then. These can be saved for later or spent right away!
  • You will no longer be able to purchase Game Extras using current payment methods and instead will require ARX, available in a number of packs (listed here.)
  • You can view the ARX FAQ here.
Expected more...
You call it update...I call it a step back !
I thought the downtime extension was for testing purposes...TEST FAILED !!!

Some Game Extras may not yet be available for purchase in the Store, affected items will be rolling back out in the coming days.

Please note that the Store is currently offline.

We hope that clarifies!
Whole livery sytem is pretty much unavailable for me. I can't change, select anything for my ships. Even paintjobs I already own are not available. It's empty.

The good news: it didn't lose the control bindings this time. But I'll have bad dreams about Holo-Me in VR. Try it out in Python or FdL. Mamba works, didn't test others.

O7,
🙃

Dookah! (sic).

I just confirmed that most of the engineering mods have been removed from my stored modules. They were stored for that reason, as useful modules to build ships.

This is a serious problem for many.
Yup...

I don't store modules unless they're hard to find, useful to be able to transfer in need, or they're engineered for future ship builds. I'm not starting Elite today. This is a seriously terrible bug.

(Reminds me of a screw-up I did myself on a production database years ago... :D 2 second mistake. Took me a week to fix. Bleh.)

Hello Commanders,

We will shortly be taking down the Elite Dangerous store to investigate a number of reported issues. During this downtime, all Game Extras will not be visible in the store and you may not be able to equip purchased items.

We'll keep you updated with any developments, and we thank you for your understanding!

Perhaps you should take down the September update all together and restore yesterdays version of the game. Then do some beta testing.
