Notice September Update - Known Issues

Good, Frontier are moving - even if it's a snails pace. so on launch the new arx store was missing, the domain name didn't even resolve to an IP address.
Today I try it and it does resolve - but to the wrong machine or maybe the right machine with the wrong certificate on it :)
Maybe next week sometime we'll have a properly secured store to buys Arxs - assuming enough bugs are fixed to make it worth while.

NET::ERR_CERT_COMMON_NAME_INVALID

As someone that works in IT and works with cloud, web and certs etc - this makes Frontier look like amateurs.

I also detected the same error this morning in my friend's account that I wanted to buy.

I closed session due to lack of security, in my opinion. I hope you consider this problem

So click through the security warning actually takes me to a different url and see the landing page that all should have yesterday!

While we make some changes behind the scenes, Elite Dangerous Game Extras will not be purchasable. ARX and Game Extras will become available after the September Update, which is coming soon!

Thank you for your patience.
Except of course the update is out and we are still waiting!
And of course the link on the frontier store still just takes you to the old url and 404 error!
It boggles the mind how something so simple as doing a holder page ( which they have done ) and making the web site and the game actually take you to it, is proving beyond them!

I don't think it was the code. Tons of stuff was fixed last night, server side .. that's databasing, not code.
Missed the point, QA has been done away with so they can shove more money in their pockets while we 'test' the patch for them. Unless you're on PS4 like me so you can't even start the game. I'll take a guess that you don't give a hoot about that.

I just logged in for the first time since the update. First thing I tried was the livery option from the main menu, I wanted to see the changes.

What a mess it is. I LOLed when I selected the bobblehead section and was loaded into the low res version of the cockpit standing in the dashboard with no preview of the items. Looks like FDev forgot abot VR users again.

Space-legs confirmed

Hello Commanders,

We have just rolled out a server side fix (effective immediately), which should address the following issues on all platforms:
We'll keep you updated of any further developments and bug fixes when the information becomes available.

Thank you for your understanding.

I'm sorry, but this work should have been done before the patch was released

It just stupid that Will and the others have to iron out the bad work FD has produced.

they were just so lazy that they were too lazy to even try to conduct at least an internal update test.
no need to apologize to them or battle danboys,
don't be afraid of them hitting them or their battle fanboys.
fdev screwed up in full this time releasing a frankly raw update,
their battle fanboys screwed themselves up with extolling fdev in any way possible.
We must talk about it openly.

So after littery hours of exploration in deep space I have 10 arx. I wont be back to a station to sell the data for many weeks. What happened to we don't want to change the way you play the game to get arx?
You are getting Arx for exploring presumably in just the way you were exploring before so looks like they got that right.

If this is the case, that’s a disaster for explorers on long journeys - on DWII, there were periods of weeks or months when I didn’t set down at a port. Not really fair that the arx cap will limit gains for exploration in this way, unless FDev really want to discourage long-distance exploration. Or, I guess, incentivize filling the galaxy with fleet carriers. Either way, kinda stinks for the old play style of spending months out in the black alone and without resupply.
I know but they NEED to give you more for the exploration part since many explorers don't visit a station every week so you will make next to nothing then either hit the limit right away when selling all that data or spend weeks selling it over time. This is forces people who explore deep space to either return once a week (this is mostly not viable) or not earn ARX. This player type has effectively been ignored when considering the ARX system.

I get your Point...really...nevertheless...we are over 5 years in this game and we had to pay fully for complete paintkits. Regardless where I am or what I'm doing. Explorers couldn't even change their livery (what they can do now).
But as I said earlier...it's stuff for free not now yes...but its free stuff i can look forward to, when I return to "civilisation"... the only concern I see is with the upcoming Helloween and X-Mas. Okay, there you have point.

On a "larger" scale I don#t think it's a concern of really high Priority.

I'm thinking about pirates and hunters right now. They have almost now chance to make any descent credits, where "you" can hop on a base at returning and cash in several 100M at LEAST.

I don't want to offend you...I also like to "Get Out" sometimes...but I'm never worried about "income", "Cr/h", "Arghs" or paintjobs "RIGHT NOW".

Not the first time this has happened, won't be the last time it will happen (Just you wait till the biggy update in Dec).

Deal with it, or rage quit and go play other games. Other games don't have Bugs at all do they?
Bugs??? A game that does not even start several days after an update is not a 'Bug', it's a total disaster.
If I flew like these guys update, would you get in my aircraft?

Like i said, not the first time, won't be the last (And i have been playing since 1.3 and it has happened EVERY update since then). EVEN when we had beta's to break, it still happened after live version was released).

Deal with it...Either play or don't play, just accept it will always happen.

After all mate it's just a game. Life will go on and bugs will be fixed.

Chill!

and instead of communicating with the community, sharing news on corrections and trying to defuse the situation, stories about future updates, etc., their community managers will post pictures on Twitter.
just feel how much they don't give a damn about the game and the community.

Well, due to the fact that the community took their laziness for granted, we came to such an apparition of things.
May be enough? maybe it’s time for them to finally start working (if they at all know what this means)?

I don't know - why are these managers given time off for such activities?

You're not wrong, just incredibly bad timing for me when I head back to work next week and won't see it again for a long time.
After forty years of gaming, ED has been an amazing experience, which only serves to make it harder to swallow failures like this.
After TheHunter:Call of the Wild update did away with hundreds of hours of my progress last year, The Bethesda.net 'Login to play Doom' nonsense and various others I just think gaming quality has taken a plunge recently.
