Patch Notes September Update - Patch 1

Holy Christ on a toilet! Some of you are not very patient, tolerant or forgiving :) Imagine if every mistake you had made in your life had resulted in a agravated internet lynch mob.

How much of a beating does one need to take before they loose patience however?

This could have been mostly avoided by a public Beta, that would have caught much of what is going on right now.

Also, bugs not being fixed that are months old? That's a choice, not a mistake.

Not addressing issues, by either saying "It's the way we want it", or "We'll get around to that", or even "We don't care about that" or "It will be fixed by other fixes in the future" or anything besides silence on common, repeated issues of game design, like Power Play and Open, or blocking.

Bug Tracker reports saying 'Needs Confirming" status with multiple users saying 'yea, it's an issue, confirmed' and these bugs are 6 to 8 months old.

The introduction of a game credit currency that makes us feel like Fdev wants to be like EA, and we know how that all ends up.

That's what most people have issue with these days and why the salts trucks seems have pulled up.

I debugged program in my young age and I can surely say they are doing poopoo and their work is poopoo... If you had been a real developer, you would know you can do one mistake but repeating the same would make you fire for incompetence... unless you are living in the carebears land

I never said I was a "REAL" developer, I said I had done a "SIMPLE" amount of coding and to add to that it was on much simpler machines.

From the limited experience I have had i can only imagine how complex it would be to get your head around a program of this caliber, complexity and size, my real point was excessive negativity will not help the devs solve the problems any quicker.

Ohh... BTW I don't see your support tickets being a very high priority to them anytime soon :)

Im not, one or two mistakes hey forgive and forget, when there is a pattern, makes it harder to forget.
And lets not forget the reason for this thread, FD broke the game implementing a microtransaction scam.
So yep im all out of patience, tolerance and forgiveness where FD is concerned.

I think Fdev has gotten the message about micro transactions. Honestly, if ED made my PC burst into flames this very moment, I still think I have got what I paid for, and then some. Yes, I was a little annoyed about not being able to engineer my frags yesterday, but then it hit me that I could still use them at a CNB, and that the reason I like them is that they make it less "easy" against NPCs. After that I went slip mining. Pave your own path or whatever they call it.

Ummmn downloaded patch still can't dock. Please fix, unplayable on xbone
I am on XBox One as well (have a One X). Docking hasn't been an issue for me at all. I would probably suggest a support ticket or troubleshooting your client install on your xbox.

Just some context, most of my faction is on xbox as well, and nobody in my squadron has had such an issue. We were on all weekend hunting pirates (since nobody could mine or engineer anything, really all that was left to do besides exploration). Been able to dock, and launch consistently no problem, from all types of facilities: outposts, starports, and planetary ports seem to work no problem. I would be interested to know if any other xbox cmdrs have this same issue though. First I've heard of it.

Nice of them to give one of the "blessed" factions a landable megaship right before telling everyone else that they can't get any landable megaships. As you may have guessed, only the factions blessed by FDev get the fancy megaships

This isn't true. We (the East India Company) obtained a megaship through BGS gameplay. They never gave us our megaship, we worked for it. Any group that knows how to work the BGS can take a megaship (although if you don't have one in a close by system, it might take longer to win it).

We were actually the first player group to get a megaship via gameplay, as well as the first player group to get an asteroid base (Freeholm in Artemis - yes, the same Freeholm in Michael Brookes book which shipped with the game on launch).

Incidentally I did take a look at Glassdoor on Frontier. You say it's a "mess" but the glassdoor reviews don't really indicate that - they show basically what's typical for a company of Frontier's size, not perfect but definitely not a "mess". Many of the glassdor reviews were positive overall. The biggest complaint was low salaries, which kind of goes with the territory - unfortunately, because game development is "sexy", young developers are falling over each other in the rush to get a gamedev job. Oversupply of hopeful game developers means wages end up low. My advice to anyone who wants to make a living in software development is don't do game development - yes, it's sexy, but actually it's really no more interesting to do than most business software when you get down to it.

You mean temporarily slapped your label on it. ;)

There's no real ownership of assets like these in the current game mechanics unfortunately.
