No it would still take over a year because of the earnings cap.If forum threads earned Arx, Yamiks could get a ship kit by now!
Frontier's cinematic "reveal" trailers are 99% Hollywood fiction, 1% actual gameplay. If Elite Dangerous was the game as portrayed in those cinematic trailers, everybody would be talking about it.I think there'll be a big cinematic reveal trailer

Sure we talk about Braben and not that other space sim developer?Frontier's cinematic "reveal" trailers are 99% Hollywood fiction, 1% actual gameplay. If Elite Dangerous was the game as portrayed in those cinematic trailers, everybody would be talking about it.
Maybe Braben missed his calling - he should have been a movie director instead of a software developer! His "movies" are actually pretty amazing.
But back on topic, I want to see actual gameplay footage, not some fantasized version of the game. According to the past trailers, we already have space legs and talking NPC crews. These trailers are very misleading..

Did the OP change the title to "Open letter from community to Star Citizen" when I wasn't looking?Sure we talk about Braben and not that other space sim developer?
Quick, take down that screenshot - you'll give Frontier bad ideas for their next UI / HUD upgrade!

Now watch the inevitable backlash when promised features and graphical downgrades happen.I've seen this over and over again with countless games. People defend Frontier's "silence" as if it's some requirement of gaming companies to keep secrets, yet we have footage from Microsoft Flight Simulator, Death Stranding, Cyberpunk 2077, just to name a few, while Frontier can't even be bothered to tell us anything about next year's update except that it's a "New Era".
It's as if Frontier thinks they are Apple and that this game is the iPhone![]()

FD already trued that route.
So you think a company with more resources, releasing an entirely new game, would have less material than a smaller developer releasing an expansion on an existing game?
Even resources aside, you think DLC is going to out-promote an entirely new release?
That's such an apples and oranges comparison, but you're wondering why the apples aren't making orange juice.
No, the Uniform Commercial Code (US law). Section under "fraud".Amen to that - seems a lot of people think it's their god given right to have games made they way they want them to run. some of the comments I have seen lately - maybe they need to read the EULA a bit more esp 4.3 and maybe 5.1 - suck it up guys it's a game .

Advertising, marketing, and customer engagements take more than just wanting to do it.
Do you think they would be more able to do so than a much, much larger company with many more resources? Because that was the context of my comment.True but it starts with wanting to do it no?
I think that if Fdev wanted to inform the players of what's coming they would be pefectly able to do so.
This is all about raising awareness, at the very least the game's current management mustn't be proud of it in front of David Braben, who otherwise appears to be completely disengaged.
timelines that we will be following closely for progress.
