Corvette thoughts

I've just gotten real admiral rank and thinking of sinking credits into a Vette.
Playing with build ideas and would appreciate some input. I play open but encounters equal exactly 3 so not PvP inclined

Looks like a good pve setup to me. You do want a kill warrant scanner I think. Gets you loads more money. Id sacrifice a point defence.
You might opt for a limpet controller + cargo rack so you can farm mats. High value targets give of a lot of lvl 4-5 mats

Hadn't thought about a controller, most of my matts come through mission rewards or degraded emissions. Good shout. Ideally I'd like at least one packhound rack but havnt got the time or energy for power play

Any reason why you put your 6D fighter hangar into a size 7 slot while having a SCB in a size 6?

Three MRPs seem a bit overkill too.

Use a class 7 scb with some heatsinks, your shields can get a beating in a CZ or when fighting a Conda with support ships in a HazRes.
I've got a guardian fsd booster too and an engineered fsd, it's not going anywhere far without them.
In pve this ship is a monster, you're practically immortal in that thing when you outfit it right.

This is more or less my setup.

Three MRPs was purely extra safety from the God shot NPC railguns that pop up in CZs. I avoid them fairly well in my FGS but not a clue how manouvarable the Vette is. And the size 6 hanger was to keep power down. I've never needed 16 fighters in a fight so can't justify more.

You can Engineer your power plant and run anything you want, eng the thrusters as well. Just finished the engineering of my Vette ;)
Everything.

Put on stronger shields and you won't have to worry nearly as much about railguns, they're only dangerous if your shields go down. You could go full prismatics and a full stack of engineered shield boosters, for point defense isn't really useful in PvE as long as your shields are up. Remember you can use reboot-and-repair to get your shields back up to 50%, saving you time if you use prismatics.

My Corvette, for comparison:

Always have a collector limpet controller, handy for a lot of mission types, salvage missions, hostage rescue... other things.

The number of MRPs is a little overkill for a PvE build, your shields shouldn't be dropping often enough to have many issues.

Are prismatics worth the time in PP though? I've got really Ltd play time so never even start grinding merits
Prismatics are nice for a few reasons, but eh. They're basically equivalent to a size larger shield, so it's good for cargo ships you want to keep a shield on, but don't want to use a big internal.

For PvE, bi-weave is where it's at, really keeps you going when there's short breaks between fights.

Nice build indeed ! But what is the interest of getting rear admiral ?
You can't get a corvette at lower ranks, FEDs lock corvettes behind the rank lock of real admiral and higher.. the other user just continues to spam topics with the single ships class were possible:).

I have two vettes, one a armed trader, the other is my pirate massacre mission runner, hang out in a haz res until my eyes bleed. I don't PvP.
