John Jameson’s crashsite. Definitely worth a visit.
What's that?
Something odd happened to me last night on a flight to some system I can't remember the name of...
I was on the "Downwind" leg of my approach to a station, had just slowed down from Max to about 115 and a ship appeared in my flight path. It was clear one second and the next I have a faceful of Adder! I hit the ship, and luckily it did not destroy it. But I did get hit with a 100 Cr fine for reckless flying. I was thinking as I was coming in on final, How the heck am I supposed to know some dude is going to pop out of hyperspace directly in front of me?
Anyway, landed anonymously, paid my fine, and dropped my cargo...But it was completing the mission that bumped me to Post Captain...so all is good I guess.

Sounds like we need to check 12 as well.Something odd happened to me last night on a flight to some system I can't remember the name of...

It just blew my mind...The IMMENSE size of the galaxy, not to mention the Universe, and a ship pops into existence directly in front of me...5 seconds earlier, and I would have probably wiped him out...2 seconds later and I would have been below 100. Definitely need to check 12 I guess...and all the other points of the three dimensional clock.Sounds like we need to check 12 as well.
The Python can feel somewhat sluggish without 6A thrusters, a bit of engineering helps as well.I've been laser mining last few sessions. I know, I've said I wouldn't do it, but I'm in the bubble, and I'm trying to unlock the engineer after Tod.
It's more engaging than I thought (directing fragment stream) bit not as fun as cores. I also somehow find it more frustrating; not the finding painite part (even though I was in a single hotspot and mined every asteroid), but that the asteroids would seemingly randomly change spin direction. This made my fragment change direction and the collectors couldn't cope anymore.
I had been laser mining in a shieldless chieftain before (love flying it, felt good and controlled) but the refinery is too small when you collect everything (and I want to mine the 500T asap, money is secondary). So the chieftain was a bit annoying. Might try it shieldless for vopal later though.
I didn't have my phantom or orca at the station I was docked at, but they sold a python... And since I heard much good about that for painite, I wanted to give it a try. I don't know what I'm doing wrong (engineering required?), but I don't like it. I did use too few collectors (tried 4 for 2 lasers) so that's user error. Might have been enough if I had only collected painite but alas, not today. The main issue was the fragment stream. I couldn't seem to get a nice close stream, when I started to get it close to my belly, they started to hit my nose and bounce of, exaccebating the collector problem.
I'm now in a Krait MkII and the issue have stopped. Maybe it was user error, but I didn't like it. The handling of the Krait is acceptable with the FA on trick for breaking, but I prefer orca/chieftain handling. The Chieftain also got a very mean boost sound which I like.
Thanks.This stuff is available there:

"Many machines on Ix. New machines. Better than those on Richesse. I see many things. You are transparent. I see plans within plans".
Wasn't he a handsome chap who uttered those words?
Yeah, probably same procedure as with Dav's hope, map it, and location shows up.It's a bit easier to find these days... no need to struggle with coords (well, I struggled) as it'll show up on your nav panel. Although, I think you have to map the planet first. I could be wrong though.

Yep, they still doing this.It isn't unusual for an NPC who was "after you" (would have interdicted, whether mission-related or otherwise) to drop into normal space inside the NFZ as you are docking. I have had it often and sometimes only just avoided the collision.

I tend to laser mine at almost maximum range and haven’t been hit by the fragments, I deploy 6 collector limpets and feed them with 3 size 2 mining lasers which do flatten the distributor.
