I thought I showed remarkable restraint holding off for as long as I did.Ah, the forum PvP brigade arrives. You're late, where have you been?

My point is there isn't even anything valuable for these demands to the players on that side of the argument other than their own egos.
I've been on that side. If there's no reward other than e-peen then its a waste of time.
I guess its just a good thing for me that fdev doesn't value their feelings as much as they do.
Ive been lurking here for years lmao
I enjoy seeing the kind of people this stuff brings out.
The ones who directly attack me for something they simply don't like are of absolutely no value as people so it lets me get them on the ignore list so I don't need to deal with them when I'm not interested in doing so.

Ah, I see; one of those guys who loves stirring up the hornets nest, then goes screaming for the hall monitor when things heat up. Nice.Ive been lurking here for years lmao

It's not the weak bladder that gets me so much, but taking three visits to the commode every morning to get my daily bowel movement out of the way is starting to become a real drag. That's normal and comes with the age, weak bladder I guess.
Hey now! Us older people have spare cash! That's normal and comes with the age, weak bladder I guess.
Well now I gotta listen to that.Where's the Hotel? I'm ready to check out but not leave.

The funny part is that as soon as the OP got even a hint of pushback he put us both on block.
I've been giving serious thought to looking for a piratey discord or something.Stupid threads tend to get posted in Discords for the sake of amusement. I hope this isn't a shock to you.
To those players who think people should play in open: What incentive do I have to do so?
If I have no interest in other players (or proving anything) outside of friends - why should I?
It's "more dangerous"? Why because I am subject to wasting 10 minutes on a rebuy, including the time to make the credits? That's not fun or engaging gameplay. Its a sigh, one click, and I make a few jumps back to where I was. Even if the fight isn't utterly one sided its still just a waste of time as neither commander gains anything of value from it, aside from salt mining (mind you, I used to engage in that myself).
So why? The game gives no compelling reason to care about open.
I concur. <redacted>.Godamm you, you owe me a new keyboard

Random encounters, whether peaceful or hostile. Interaction with something beyond NPCs. Making friends. Simply seeing another player in passing. Reading their hilariously filthy ship name that made it through the profanity filter, or showing off your own.

Because it’s fun. At least, it can be, and many others think it is too. You don’t have to, you aren’t being forced.

Again, fun. That is what people get out of engaging other players. If that isn’t your style of gameplay, and you aren’t interested in meeting people, or taking chances, then you don’t have to play in open. There are no real incentives beyond those, and I don’t expect to convince you otherwise— not that it really matters to me what mode someone else chooses to play in.

It doesn’t, really, but you sure seem to care about it in some capacity, or else you wouldn’t feel compelled to start this thread, same as those before you. I wish you the best of luck in reaching 40+ pages of people saying the same thing back and forth.
