Valve has spoken

I guess at some stage I should finish HL1, and then HL2 ... I am so behind with my HLs :(
I never touched the DLCs, blue shift and the episode whatevers... I think I might do a refresher playthrough, especially that I bought the community's "Black Mesa" version on some discount. Might be cool to relive childhood memories, as I only remember a few flashbacks from the original games.

It's VR. That's pretty niche. And I doubt it'll pull as many to VR as Half-Life 2 pulled customers to Steam to make Valve become what it is today.
Well someone has to push the boundaries for progress, or we will be locked into stalemate [vr has no flagship titles because it is too niche because it has no flagship titles because it's too niche because...] :D

Will it pull customers to VR? I don't think so either, unless it's one of many (they announced 3). VR is becoming cheaper / graphics cards are about to have a revolution (7nm Nvidia cards next year) so it's a slow process but we're getting there. And Valve was always musing how they would want to make games for their own hardware, like Nintendo does. So who knows what will come out of it. If the game sucks, then it would be a massive blow to the VR niche. If the game is successful, we might see and uptake in VR adoption, at least on publishers' side. Time will tell, hopefully it's not "Valve time".
