Come on, this entire place is borderline weird. Someone can create a post accusing FD of the most outlandish and basically stupid thing and people will come to the OP's defense saying the criticism is vital for a healthy game. But if one person takes that OP to task, like ask for clarification, or where they got their information, or even have the audacity to comment that maybe the OP's latest conspiracy theory or wild accusation is maybe not 100% accurate they are immediately given the dreadful label of 'White Knight'.
In reality, most here throw the 'Oh you White Knight' accusation out when they have no other argument to put forward, basically means they have nothing and know they have lost.

Yep, always start smiling when the idiots start throwing the 'White Knight' accusations around, I know whoever they were arguing with just won lol

Its a lot further than borderline. Since roughly the release of Horizons its been fine to be outright hostile to anyone positive to the point where you get repeatedly told to stop posting in the forum if you like the game.

Understandable though given the millions of copies sold you are bound to accumulate a certain number of edge cases.

The forum undead are my favourites "I haven't played this game in years, but groan in the forum everyday repeating whatever the other obsessive nutters say". They remind me of Miss Havisham living forever in the wedding dress they were abandoned at the altar in.

Current II is a dearth of creativity, no content scheduled til Q2 2020, Thargoids are stagnant, WHN BGS still disabled, and a lot of mechanics and features which could deliver interesting, quick wins are just in the back of the cupboard collecting dust.

Yeah... pretty quiet.

There's a certain truth in what you say!

But the real question is why? Could it be that more and more people are disenfranchised, frustrated, bored, angry etc etc at the constant shoddy releases, the never ending unfixed bugs, the cancellations and the basic lack of empathy or indeed communication by the company?


Obviously this game/sim whatever ya wanna call it is quite niche. When it's also very badly developed, you're always going to get the anger vented on the forums.

90% of the last 1,277 reviews are very positive.
70% of the 31,833 reviews are mostly positive.

I think this shows that the changes to the game for new players are seen as a good thing, quite overwhelmingly. For a long time reviews on Steam we're IIRC 'Mixed'. I understand that it's different for some long term players, but things will get better. It's nearly a year since the big Beyond update was released. So it won't be long now.

Its been quiet here when ive popped in. I personally have been away more so than here recently.
My interest in ED has reached peak yawn and we have another year left before new content lands.
Im not sure im going to make it.

Nope, it really is just proper nutters who are constantly negative and can't move on.

ED is a hobby that people do for fun, if it stops being that then its time to find something else. People start stop and return to video games all the time its really not a big deal for the vast majority of people. However you get a tiny minority of people who for whatever reason just can't "get over" a video game and are jealous of the people its "seeing" now, over time their numbers build up to comedy levels. Similar behaviour to the sort of frustrated angry ex-boyfriend who can never understand why they got dumped and tries to get back with their ex by screaming abuse at them.

A lot of forums have an automatic ban policy for them since they can never offer anything accurate, constructive or valuable.

I find them funny, as I think its just a fun video game.

Yes, this.
There are definitely a lot of folk who repeatedly state that they haven't played in ages and have lots of very correct opinions about the health of ED. Yeah..... sad.
