Thanks for all of your super helpful regarding after the launch of the Arctic Pack and free Update 1.1.0. We appreciate hearing all the feedback from the community; please continue to share your feedback with us and make reports on the Issue Tracker.

Here's the update notes for Update 1.1.1:

This update contains many more bug fixes and updates.

Animals
  • Fixed an issue with boxing animals that are jumping.
  • Mitigated a number of issues with animals being flagged as escaped when inside a habitat. Some issues still exist and we continue to investigate.
  • Reduced habitat welfare size for polar bears
    • Thanks for the feedback on the habitat and welfare requirements for the Polar Bears. We will be amending the requirements to 1/2 of their original size. Whilst we strongly believe in the reasons behind the original numbers, we completely understand that some players, in particular our creative builders, would face too many challenges in keeping these amazing animals happy in their zoos. The new numbers will be both more in line with other large animals in Planet Zoo, and in keeping with the overall conservation message of Planet Zoo - whilst also maintaining a gameplay challenge for those who don't want it to feel too easy to run a successful zoo.
In terms of the original numbers, we did a lot of research into Polar Bear habitats – they are majestic animals that require a wide snowy area to roam, and if they have anything less, they tend to display stress behaviours and in general do not cope well with being in zoos. Planet Zoo is at its core about animal welfare, so we felt giving the Polar Bear the high space and water requirements it so desperately needs to thrive, was in keeping with the game’s main message.
New Content
  • Added missing Arctic theme tag to 8 items to enable them to be shown by the scenery filter.
    • Items:
      • Icicles 4m - 01
      • Icicles 4m - 02
      • Icicles Large - 01
      • Icicles Medium - 01
      • Icicles Small - 01
      • Icicles Small - 02
      • Icicles Small - 03
      • Roof Trim - 2m
Staff
  • Fixed staff being stuck on staff path.
  • Fixed an issue with staff room perks being lost after exiting and reloading a save.
Management
  • Temporarily turning off refunds for animal escapes.
UI
  • Fixed issue with the Work Zone UI contents list being greyed out.
  • Added missing icons to the Arctic research levels.
  • Fixed pay off loan button; you only pay off the outstanding amount, not the outstanding amount AND its future interest.
  • Adjusted the wording of the "Alert Settings" in the "Interface" options
Career Mode
  • Fixed a crash when starting Scenario 3 in Challenge or Sandbox modes.
Stability
  • Further crash and stability fixes.
Localisation
  • Various localisation fixes.

Thanks team, hopefully in next patch we get this annoying message problem fixed with education screens and education speakers being incorrectly placed. Since patch 1.1.0 every speaker that is like below ground gets flagged as incorrectly placed and every screen gets flagged as incorrectly placed when for example not close enough to the habitat of the animal listed in the screen. So all our zoo's that had like little learning areas where we placed screens with all kinds of animals we have in the zoo are now flagged as incorrectly placed just because they are not at the habitat. Please change this back as it was before patch 1.1.0

I haven't had any of these alerts for my franchise zoo. But my understanding is that since release of the game visitors are only educated when they see the animals while getting information (speakers, boards). I.e. speakers and boards have to be in a certain range of the specific habitat. The new alert only tells you that now, there shouldn't have been any change of the mechanism.

Thanks for the update and for listening to the community! <3

The previous habitat requirements were obviously fantastic for the welfare of the in-game polar bears, but it caused frustrating limitations for the players.

Planet Zoo is a fantastic game with focus on animal welfare, conservation and education, but it’s also a game, meant to be enjoyed by players. Therefore, thank you for adjusting the requirements as this enables more freedom for the players. :)

Just saying that the popup messages are getting very annoying, i hope they change this back to how it was. Let us have our learning / information zones, let us sink our speakers into the ground if we want to hide then

I think it's quite hard to satisfy both needs. Giving players tools to improve their zoo, i.e. increase education rating. Or let them do what they want. But a more granular setting of alerts would help I guess.

Thank you again for listening to your community
You guys are just amazing

Some new ingame ui ideas:
I would love to have a family tree inside the animal panel.

Maybe I am not yet that experienced but I have problems finding with one was born by whom. I would love to see these are the parents and so on

My solution was to name the baby "father mother baby"

Have a great day :)

I really, really love this. I was hoping that was the reason. Count this creative sandbox builder on board with the message!

I think the idea is to use the conservation boards for learning areas and the screens and speakers near the habitats.

This is already implemented in update 1.1! If you go to the social tab, you can see parents, children, siblings, pack mates, etc. It's just not visually shown as a family tree, but as a list. ;)
