Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

I’m actually docked in an anarchy system at the moment. In nearly 24 months of playing, it is only the second one I have come into contact with! In olden times (i.e back in 1984 and in Frontier: Elite II) they were all over the place, did lawanorder expand in the intervening years??

Quite nice to see the Coriolis with “Never Surrender!” written on it :D
Yeah, the starport decorations seem to be related to actual anarchist political leanings, but the missions they give you are basically just the same as other factions, but with "here, do a crime" replacing some of the mission types. Smuggling and settlement scans mostly with the occasional generator kill.

There's only one reasonable response to this... Get started on spreading the anarchy!

While we sit comfortably and enjoy family, good company, food & drink I can not but think of some facts this year has created.

Arctic burns, Amazons burns, Australia burns, COP25 expectedly the laughing stock, Brexit and more right wing authoritarians taking over democracy, last but not least 71 million people worldwide are forcibly displaced, by reason of conflict, human rights violation, persecution and violence, while the EU pushes for even more Militarisation.

While following the principle of sustainability is more urgent than ever, at the same time we shall not forget to nurture and care for ethical sustainability because without that there is nothing but chaos.

Work on War (expletive) has commenced. New turreted MC's and gimballed huge beam are engineered. Ship in transit back to Shin where the Conda get's stripped and modules fitted to the 'Vette. Even that modest amount of engineering has emptied me of one or two encoded mats... still, this is the last ship I'll be making a combat one so should be A-OK.

Was on my way to the Galactic Center for some high-density Exploration.

However, 13500LY from SOL I discovered Brain Trees. No Nebula anywhere nearby, plus according to all public Databases the nearest Guardian Discoveries are some 2500LY away.
Thus, I'm sidetracked and doing a 150LY search Pattern around the entire area... maybe I stumble over something Guardian :)

V. Nice. The Corvette is a beast in combat. May be that the two huge beams have made the difference as it does seem the enemy faceplants quicker now. Plus, fitting a limpet controller is a nice little boon. I could stay in this RES until my synth reloads deplete all mats :D

Hang around a nav beacon with some cargo in your hold. It's fun taking out pirate scum.

Well, got the shiny permit, it's for Talulah or Tallalia or something like that.
Back to Ray Gateway, jump in the Asp Scout and...
Oh dear. Modules missing, half arxed engineering, tut tut.
Oh yeah, the completed one was on PS4 🤦‍♀️.

Next time I'm on, I shall get it finished, BUT I've also decided to build a Keelback for killing Scouts as well.
Once they're both done I'll leave them out near the Thargoid frontier.

Tally ho!

Sorry - a Keelback scout-killer?!
I like the Keeler; it's a nice ship but how does it fare against the hyperactive space crickets?

Haven't tried it myself, but fumbling around in Coriolis - it looks like the Keelback doesn't take too well to shields. and will always be slower than a Viper, but boy can you load her up with hull reinforcements. Stuff her with Guardian hull reinforcements, and you can get something like 3,500 hull points for corrosive. Add a couple of AX MCs and small Guardian whatever (probably shards, unless you want to o/c the PP), and it'll hurt.

Different tactics in order I think.
With the Asp Scout, the basic premise is: Don't get hit!

The Keelback: Tank it, get hit, but take them down fast.

we shall see. :D

That's REALLY interesting; I love stomping bugs, but have always used my trusty Krait for it. I'd never considered looking at an upgraded Keelback...but yeah; now that I look at it, it has SOLID upgradable structure! Not what I'd consider a powerful AX platform but decent AX protection and it a player likes a challenge...whoo; that could work!
I'm still gonna stick with my Krait, though. ;)

I've been in kind of a funk, after spending about 4 months exploring outside the bubble I haven't really been able to get back into the swing of things and haven't been playing much. Nothing sounds very fun and nothing has been that much fun even though I couldn't wait to get back and so something besides exploration. I did a little Thargoid Scout hunting but I couldn't really get into it, I took part in that CG bringing in the goods for the big party but I couldn't really get a good trade route going and only delivered a few thousand tons toward the goal. I've been doing passenger missions today, figured I'd help out some Holiday travelers but pretty soon I was flying around a Beluga full of wanted criminals because the missions paid more and stacked. I like to think they were on their way to some sort of Die Hard style Christmas heist.
