Request for help info on getting a new PC (UK)

Do'h re read the email and yeah they still do that, so i buy the case I want and send it in....also they only do Zotac or Palit branded 1660 supers, never heard of those makes anyone have expereince of those manufacturers? (While I check out reviews online).

Ah I can buy the airflow replacement front for the standard case.....That'll be less hassle.
I have a Palit 2070 which has been working great for me. No issues.

My Palit 970 had been running solidly for 4+years. It does run a couple of degrees hotter than the 780 it replaced, whether that comparison is even valid I have no idea

Try a price up with this group Leper. They were very good with my current PC.

There was no faff about cases or budget video cards either.

Cheers for the extra info lads, can't seem to find any place with the airflow kit in stock, but saw a vid about how easy it is to remove the front panel so for now i won't bother, If it's too hot I'll remove the front panel, I do that now with my current PC in summer by removing the side panel anyway.

That's a good site for future reference but they couldn't beat the PC specialist price, so that's where I'm probably going!

Hope it all goes well :)

Which GPU did you decide on?

Cheers! And thanks for finding them for me!

1660 super, short term all I need is 1080p until I get a new monitor, which won't be for a while. So I skimped there on the build. Once I have more dosh saved up I'll up the GPU and either get a new monitor or VR headset.

Fair enough. I'm still on the fence for mine.

If I could persude the wife that a camping stove and portaloo would do rather than a actual Kichen and Bathroom, life would be much simpler and the PC so much better :giggle:

Yup, jedi mind tricks don't seem to work on women/wives though!! At least not for me!

That's a common thing indeed in my house also.

Hopefully you don't run into any issues. Did you stick with the 1660S for the GPU?

All ok so far, getting used to right clicking the windows icon for the proper stuff, and slowly getting organised. Yup I stuck with the 1660Super, had to sacrifice somewhere in the end and I only have 1080p capabale monitor at the moment.

gpu is a good thing to saccrifice somewhere with the view that it is dead easy to upgrade in the future.

at 1080p the 1660super will smash it, and also has the muscle for VR if you go for the riftS.

give it 12 months and hopefulyl there will be a decent gpu capable of ray tracing which wont cost the earth that you can upgrade to...... (assuming you are ready to upgrade then)
