It certainly makes me curious what they found in discovery that made the release of SQ42 so crucial to Crytek's wanting to pursue the case…

Maybe they simply saw the financials and all the shell companies and understood that without a release there won't be any money to grab.

I kinda wish the lawsuit would just go away - I have this vision of CiG folding and CR walking away saying 'it would have worked if it wasn't for that pesky lawsuit' and blaming Crytek for the project failure.

... followed by a new kickstarter for the all new Galaxy Citizen. BDSSE2!

Meanwhile, on the Battle Breakers discord (a F2P mobile gatcha game), a SC dissing comes out of nowhere!

If that was to happen, some fans would indeed have an excuse to explain the failure and "absolve" Chris or CIG. Personally, if the CryTek suits manages to make CIG fold (highly doubtful yet), it would simply mean a show case for the lack of project production/management competencies and skill that has permeated so far throughout the whole development.

Like CR isn't going to go ahead and blame everyone else but himself anyway. :D He did absolve himself already.

It would be like history repeating tbh (freelancer, WC movie, Lord of war etc), only this time it'll just be funnier. :)

Hey, i'm all for a good CIG/SC bash, but i actually enjoyed Lord of War.

I don't think Chris even tries to claim that much credit for Lord of War — that's more something the backers bring up as an example of his excellent movie-making ability (Chris had nothing to do with LoW; he was one of 18 different backers producers and didn't even cough up enough cash to buy himself an “executive producer” title). He instead likes to point at Outlander (2008) as his proudest moment…

…with its 40% metascore and $50M loss at the box office. :D
