No point in reading the words in the thing you quoted either, I guess.Delaying new content is a major shift in development process, and that is what the open letter literally didn't ask for. No point in blaming the signatories.![]()

I agree regarding SDC etc. Still, Frontier does listen to them more than the forums. That has to say something.I said as much myself - but did not appoint anyone to be my mouthpiece.
It is interesting that you highlight toxicity - yet at the top of the list of signatures Smiling Dog Crew - curious - a group who coerced the Devs over a change to experimentals by declaring 'war' on new players until it was removed... but obviously not 'Toxic'...
The creators of the 'Open Letter' would have been aware they only represented a sample of the community, yet still chose to be a voice for the whole community, odd!
Yes, this forum is toxic in places, over some very emotive topics it can be very toxic, but there are many interests discussed, with vastly differing views, I'm sure you have noticed such - I know I have.

Speak for yourself. Enjoy the year long bug fix. I can wait for content.Indeed we did. Bug fixes are what we asked for in the Community Requests letter, alongside open betas (also back), and empowered Community Managers (there have already been improvements on this, and hopefully we'll see more).
It's great to see FDev constantly improving Elite Dangerous![]()
It was why I chose that as an illustration.I agree regarding SDC etc. Still, Frontier does listen to them more than the forums. That has to say something.
I am and will thanksSpeak for yourself. Enjoy the year long bug fix. I can wait for content.
I was just being funny. I get the feeling from a lot of people's posts that a lot of the veterans have already quit playing and only check in intermittently to see if anything worth doing has been added
So we actually got what some people asked for?
Fake news, thats not actually how it happened. Fdev just used that as an excuse because they probably were nowhere near ready to release it. If you go read that open letter, no where does it request an extended drought so that bug fixes can implement new and worse bugs.
it's deeply disappointing to see such a gem left
(Sky falling)Its sad isnt it. Cause you know with this they have killed the Elite name. Cant see them making a new one any time soon can you? So this is it, the IP is mired here.

I've never seen so many people get their panties in a bunch on patch day.Im not gonna start saying i told you so till later in the year. Still time for them to deliver right?![]()

Lol that makes my day.You should have been here for the October patch. Like a series of tornadoes going through a panty manufacturing district.
Popcorn salesmen and salt farmers never had it so easy.
I honestly don't know how they've managed to squander the time and good will initually offered to them.
THE GREATER GOODthat's easy. they were concentrating on making the company grow and attract investment, that's incompatible with focusing on a high quality product.
i has to be said, so far they have been quite successful and amply met their objectives. otoh, that has its price and the elite that could have been an actual elite game is an expendable sacrifice. sucks to be a fan. for the greater good.
i'm starting to really wish elite new era is a rewrite from scratch, hopefully even outsourced in the critical parts. i know it won't be.
meh, let the show go on!
