In September 2015, Frontier was indicating the content that was coming in May 2016, October 2016 and April 2017. My point is obvious, Frontier know what is coming in late 2020, they must have done the bulk of the work, they choose not to tell us, probably for marketing reasons.
In August 2015 they told us what content was coming in December 2015. Following your logic they would've told us in 2012.

Well obviously they know which content is planned for late 2020, they are working on it since two years after all. There are several reasons they don't tell us yet, marketing, expectation management and potential changes to the planned content.

For some reason you claimed that the current situation is somehow different to the marketing period before the Horizons launch, which is not the case as I've shown several times. That's completely unrelated to the point you want to make though, you don't need to compare Big 2020 to Horizons just to find out that they know what they are working on. Assuming anything else would just be completely idiotic.

There’s no logic required, this is verifiable. Newsletter 92 shows that Frontier knew what was going to be produced over the next 18 months and were prepared to let the community know as well.

It’s up to Frontier if they want to keep us in the dark, but they aren’t working in the dark, and it seems to be ‘economical with the truth’ for Frontier to pretend they are unable rather than unwilling to tell us.

For real??? We are counting ARX and super cruise assist as new “content”. Get real
Heh, I made the same mistake earlier. Completely forgot the 'starter experience'. Which I completed in about 15 minutes iirc. Technically it's content I guess. At least it gave you a free PJ for your Sidey.

You might want to read my posts again. My point was that there is no difference to how the Horizons announcement was handled.

Nobody disputes that, again, please read my post. Only an idiot would assume they don't know what they've been working on since two years. We aren't talking about the Infinite Monkey Theorem here.

I've never bothered with CQC - doesn't mean it wasn't content for many. Others have never seen a Thargoid - so I guess Thargoids aren't "content" for them.

OTOH I have bought COVAS using free ARX, so September was new content for me 🤷‍♀️
Plus all the bugs. If you cant count all those bugs as content what can you count lol

New livestream announced for tonight, start of the Lore Tour (1st Ive heard of it but hey ho), advertised as...

"Join us tonight....We'll be travelling around Sol, learning the history of our solar system and the Federation."

Heads up Fdev, I've underlined it coz that's what I am now expecting, not chatting about updates or patches or fleet carriers and why they cant be talked about, not someones dinner or childhood pet, just the lore history of our solar system and the Federation and answering relevant questions about that topic and the game where possible.

Looking forward to it, please just keep it on topic. Let the chat moderator deal with the non-questions.

The Lore has changed a lot, some of us want 1st hand accounts of what the lore actually is please. As advertised is all.

Good Luck!

I feel a bit sorry for Paige and Stephen (who ftr seem lovely people). They're not in a position to share any more detail about future content, as a result get flak from rather salty comments they have to read but can only ignore... amongst some questions that they can't possibly answer such as "why is random suggestion/feature not implemented and when will it be", which they can't really respond to, all the while just a few handful of viewers actually bother to tune in (81 at time of writing).

On top of that they're coming across like it's the first time they play the game (autodocking a Sidey etc.) so it's not exactly riveting content all by itself either. Just getting the impression they don't really want to be there but have to make a brave face as it's their job, trying to talk about random stuff just to say anything at all.

Hope FD give them a bit more to 'play' with soonish(tm)...

By what you explained, I don't feel sorry for them, not a bit. For any community manager it is imperative to know the game inside-out - yet none of them did. The highly acclaimed 'lt's have a bobblehead of him' Ed was not much better either.

Just imagine if they invited Michael Brookes to discuss the lore, or ship designers to discuss the identity of manufactures, their history. So much content to talk about, yet they try to show off lame gameplay on the fly... so sad...

They tried that format, too many complaints about announcements about announcements and complaints about things that hadn't been announced but rumoured anyway. Why do you need new content all the time? Cant we have some vids that are about the content we do already have?...
Entertainment. Some fresh entertainment keeps the interest going. CM work is/can be entertainment as well. I watched Introversion updates and Warframe streams even when I was not playing. Even watched Ed sometimes because I liked him. People watch even when they dislike stuff (" There's those fools again going at it. What crap did they make up this time?") It's all entertainment. A show. Good for player retention. They talk about the last show for days or weeks even.

Also this is the description on their YT stream....

Honestly it isn't that hard to reach Colonia. You could do it in a Sidewinder, although it'd probably be easier in a Hauler (more jump range). Then just build your fleet in Colonia, as if you were still in the bubble, with less options, of course (Hauler to Cobra, Cobra to T6, etc)
